I've been noticing lately that the Ferry runs out of Seattle have escorts.
I guess this has to do with the memo about them being a prime terrorist target?

Is there an official declaration of how close you can get to these now? Is it a private service?

I know Lenny was dissappointed one time because I wasn't going to hit first wake on a frieghter in the Sound. I just didn't want to freak out the crew with a speed boat running close to them. In this climate, they have every right to start firing on what may appear to be a suicide intercept.

we can't do what we use to do.........

Ever since the USS Cole you have to stay something like 200 yds off of the ends of the passenger ship terminals and the Intrepid aircraft carrier here in New York City.
Otherwise these swift craft hard bottoms show up real fast and start grinding your boat numbers into a computer with a warning to stay 150 yds from the Manhattan seawall.

Owen, I went up to one of our "Destroyers" the other day, (yes we have one,... or two :D ) anyways, ran at about 50 off the bow and circled the ship. At front and back I was followed by binoculars and machine gun wielding deck patrols :yikes: No biggy tho, but I DO NOT BELIEVE I would be able to get even remotely close to the Aircraft Carriers of your Countrys' when they come here. By the way, this is the time they come here until summers end and anchor in the Basin. Abe Lincoln, all sorts of em in the Pacific fleet. Sad thing is they peel off all the F-16' / F-18's and other paraphenalia and leave them behind in Everett or something and we just see the odd support flightcraft. I think they leave the planes down at the Submarine Base in Everett.

Sure are BIG tho.

Oh, and next time, when you are HERE, we don't run from ANY first wake off of ANYTHING :) be it head on or following :D Kind of like playing "Survivor" in the water.
