We put in the 22 for the first time since Dora. We ran south towards Hontoon first, just to be sure everything checked out ok, before making that 17 mile run through wilderness towards Astor. I had tinkered with the timing a little, so I wanted to see if it made a difference. We hit about 4500 rpm, and 57.8 mph, without any trim. I thought it would miss a beat when I hit the trim button, so I left it down. We ran through Astor, then out on Lake George, over to Silver Glen. It was a mess over there. Some guy about t boned us at idle, because he was talking on his cell, instead of watching where he was going. We didn't even go up the spring. Left there and headed north along the west bank of the lake, then across the lake to Georgetown. Debbie was driving, and we passed Porky's and continued north. We came to a spot where I didn't know which way was the channel, and I told Deb that. She said she thought we were heading to Porky's. I told her we passed it a couple miles back! I thought she saw it, and just wanted to keep going. We turned back and went to Porky's for lunch. There was a couple sitting there that asked us what year the Donzi was. Turns out they have a 1986 22 Classic. They live in Daytona. He said he was repairing where he had water damage around the thru hulls. Kept chatting, and it turns out he used to own that purple 16 that was for sale at Speedmaster's. We left after lunch and ran straight to the boat launch. It took exactly one hour and twenty minutes running at 3000 rpm (37 mph). There was no shortage of LEO on the river today. When we got to the dock, Debbie was heading through the parking lot to get the truck. I heard a big crash on the dock next to me, and figured they dropped a cooler or something. Then I see Debbie coming back towards the dock. Turns out some old man just fell out on the dock next to us. The guy he was with was even older than him. The other guy had a sherrif's badge on his waist, and a gun. Anyway, we helped him get the man up. The guy that fell said he thought he fell right on his pacemaker. He also cut his arm, and probably cracked or bruised some ribs. We helped him into the car, and helped the other guy put his boat on the trailer. The sheriff said he was taking him to the hospital, because he thought his pacemaker wasn't working right.

Anyway, we had a fun time. Tomorrow, I think we're going to splash the fishboat at Daytona, and go to Disapearing Island at Ponce Inlet. Our neighbors were going there today. Supposed to be some kind of festival going on there.

My eyesight sucks, but I think it said Hydrostream. It sure looks like a Hydrostream hull.

Nice pix, Cuda. Aye Candy and I were at Silver Glenn Spring last year for Memorial Day Week and vowed NEVER to go there again on a holiday weekend. I'm sure you saw lots of go-fassssst Fountains and Baja's and a few Donzi's. The Jacksonville Performance Boat Club planned to do the whole weekend there. 'Splains the beak-boat photo you took.

Actually, I've met the guy in the Fountain several times. The first time was on a jobsite. He had the Fountain stickers on his truck, so I asked him about it. It's 38 with 525's. About two weeks later, I saw him at the ramp in Deland, then at the Toys for Tots run, and at the Jville Poker Run. At the poker run, he had run his boat all the way from Astor to downtown Jax. He owns a construction business. I think he lives in Leesburg. His name is Norm.

Other than that, we really didn't see much for performance boats. We did see what I think was an 18 Donzi, teal, coming south from Porky's.
