Is this right or do I need to make some throttle adjustments. I feel the need for speed!

4K ? ? ? , nope, download your codes. See what is going on or "has" gone on. Assuming, you have codes ;) What size wheel are you spinning? What is it? Pitch and Diameter. Gear ratio in the lower as well. 1:36 or 1:50?

I dunno all dat tech stuff I just wanna go faster. don't know the ratios I think the prop says Mirage plus on it. Don't know the size or pitch yet. Do they use the clever props any more is that way 80's lol.

Real hard to go faster without knowing all that stuff. Just a crap shoot other wise.

I could only twist mine to 4500 today. I had been getting 4700, but mine's a 330 horse.

The best way to go faster, without going into all dat tech stuff, is to just push the throttle farther down - and don't forget - trim her up too

The prop pitch should be stamped on the prop. It'll be a number like 23p. You also need to know if your tach is correct by hooking up a service tach. If you could post that info there are lots of 454 guys here who could probably tell you what prop to use. Do you have a GPS? What does the speedo say?

Get an accurate tach reading, a true GPS speed, and probably a smaller prop.

TY fellers. Who makes a good INEXPENSIVE GPS. Last Tremble unit I had mapped the world on six discs, color monitor and cost $$$$. This is only a runabout lake boat and would like to keep it under $500 if possible. I would appreciate the best GPS for the money. Any votes for the Garmin?

TY in advance

I had two Garmin Etrex. I lost one, and the other just quit, so I bought a Magellan. Both models were around $100 at Walmart. Just handhelds.

www.donzi.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44610 Arip, this is a good thread to read for tips on driving your boat. That prop is what comes on the new 496 HO 22s. Unless your motor has been modified you made need a smaller pitch. I would get a little seat time first then if you need a smaller prop sometimes you can set up an even swap here. Good luck. If you have the power to pull that prop then I would not change it.
