Has anyone heard of the new life jacket regulation in MD? I think it states that any child under 50 pounds must wear a jacket with the large (infant style) neck and head support feature. The back, top of the jacket has to have a grab handle. And of course, there needs to be a strap between the legs.
I'm all for safety but one of my little guys is 5 yrs old and has been able to swim for over a year but he is no where close to 50 pounds. He wears a life jacket but now will I have to buy him one to abide by this new regulation?
I only read of this reg in a local magazine. Is it for real?
