guys, got some quick questions, found a GT 21 in GA, and it has a 454 with 440 hp, not sure if this was the original power or not, plus it is a 1975, so not sure if this was a power option or not. Priced at around 13,500. any opinions welcome. The Rat

I've got a 1970 GT21 with a 454 bored out to 468 and a V-drive. Having riden in 16s-22' Donzis I'd say that this model is definately one of my favorites. In terms of speed, I'm hitting low 60s with the V-drive, I'd expect an single I/O to run mid-upper 60s- Bill would probably be the person to ask how the I/Os perform though.

The GT is a heavy boat, a very heavy boat for its size. It's a great boat to be driving when the water gets rough. I'm not sure about the actual specs, but in my experience riding it up and down the Hudson and New York Harbor in varying conditions it 'feels' like a bigger, heavier boat than a 22 classic.

In terms of price, I'd expect to pay between $12-$15k if the boat is in decent condition. I've got about $13k into mine and I'm getting ready to redo the interior and purchase a new trailer.

Hope this helps. PM me if you've got any specific questions.

Just curious...... Does a drag racer with no time for the boat own this GT? Rack stored? Yellow and white I think? I inquired about a GT down on the lake outside of Atlanta about 5 or 6 years ago. Just wondering if maybe the one your looking at is the same boat?

Price seems fair. Sierra Boat on Lake Tahoe has a baby blue one for sale with a 350 volvo package for around 22k. As with all non-new boats, condition is everything.

Bolds it is yellow and white, not sure if the guy is a drag racer, but I will attach the file of the boat.

Personally I think GTs would look great on a 2007 AOTH shirt :)

Awe cut me some slack- that was my first time driving a boat.

How'd I know the boat needed gas- it had a battery in it :biggrin.: :biggrin.:

Hey Ratzo...

Good luck with the boat... it seems pretty good $$ wise, but for a few bucks more you can get into a late model with less possible headaches.

Give my best to Joy & the family!

PS: Will I be seeing your dad up here for the Fishing Derby?

Jeff,
Do you have a hull number?

Woodsy, not sure if I am going to buy it, but I am in the market for sure, I agree I may go with a 22 classic or a 22zx with the cuddy, and we all know why, not sure if my dad will be up for the Derby, I will ask him. Bertram don't have the hull# but I will call and see if I can get it.
