Wanted to share a few photos. Had some stringer work done on the 22 and cleaned up the transom a bit. Dropped the Alpha and added the Bravo/Shorty w/ IMCO steering and innovative shower. Hope she never spends that much time out of the lift again.

Let us kow how she runs once you splash her.

Looks good, what did you use to repaint your transom?

Thanks for the comments guys:biggrin: I didn't feel good about running 70+ MPH without the external steering and putting 400+ HP through the old alpha. It's cool to tug on the drive and get zero play in the transom assembly due to the rams. I just got her back late Friday and the weather was too bad to run her over the weekend. May get a chance this weekend though. It's hard to say if I'll pick up any speed with the new set up but these mods were more about increasing safety and dependability. More speed comes next....
My fiberglass guy is a big awlgrip fan so that's what the transoms done with.

Tell me more - what are the thru-hull ports on each side of hte exhaust tips and tell me about the drive shower that also comes thru the hull rather than external off of the drive?
looks great!

Thanks! The pipes are dry so the thru hull ports are the outlet for the raw water. The old outlets were just above the transom assembly. The risers are one piece from the manifold thru the hull (zoom in and you can see the gasket around trim rings, no tips here). The outlet fitting for the riser is just inside the hull and conects to the thru-hull ports. Some water mixes with the exhaust but most is out of the ports. Way f'ing loud. The dry pipes are cool but I wouldn't have them if they didn't come with the boat. Way f'ing loud.
I never liked the looks of the old drive shower. The new one is fed by the water pick-up on the nose cone which is also the only water pick-up on the drive. This is not connected to the raw water pump at all, so I don't know if the water pick-up will supply enough water for the shower or not. My wingman will have to tell me if this set up works or not. If I can trust BSE with the camera maybe we can get some video. Someone here has the same shower but is fed by the raw water pump and that's the back-up plan.
No comment on the adjustable thru hull water pick-up?

Looks like rain this Sunday, we will get to it ASAP. "DTP" looks good. I'm sure we will turn a lot of heads this summer when we run together. I still say we need to get Denise and Laura to dress in black leather when we go out together!! Oh,I forgot you said you liked latex!!

So you must have a separate water pickup and pump on the engine. Not the standard Alpha or Bravo setup. The standard Bravo lower unit with the water holes on the side will move a good amount of water for a shower without a pump, there is plenty of lateral pressure on the lower as it moves thru the water to force water up for a shower, not enough to cool the engine but enough for a shower. I would think your nose cone pickup should as well. You just need a separate external water pickup somwhere which you already have. I agree, regular drive showers with stuff dragging thru the water, holes drillied thru the ventilation plate, and hoses/pipes all around the drive seem silly. There is already enough draging thru the water and enough plumbing to tap into to make a cleaner installation shower. I am surprised no one has made a kit yet that at least has the piping snugg to the drive.

The thru-hull water pick-up is mounted to the left of the drive. My guy mounted it a little higher than I wanted but it looks like it is adjustable enough to work out. He also thought we would get plenty of water thru the nose cone to supply the shower. It will be interesting to see what speeds it takes to get decent flow. Innovative marine sells the shower with the optional thru-hull kit. Their standard kit routes to the cavitation plate. http://www.innovativemarine.net/
There is a engine mounted raw water pump now and an inline sea strainer mounted between the pump and the pick-up. There is a tee with an isolation valve between the strainer and the pump to attach the hose for flusing.
Later,
Dan

Saturday and Sunday both look like **** now. As far as video goes I've decided you sink too many boats to let you run that close to DTP:shocking: I'll just tape the camera to one of the steering rams and hope for the best!!

Just for the record, I only sank one boat. Four times. :biggrin.: :biggrin.: :biggrin.: :biggrin.:
