Poodle,
They say they are 24" tabs. Would that make them 280S planes??

the boat is a 96 22 Blackhack with the standard trim tabs and I was looking to put a larger set on

I would stick with the 150's, the BH doesn't need 280's or anything bigger.
Run it, you'll see.

By the way, congrats on the new boat, hope to see it at the rally up there in July.

I have tried it and it works fine except I would just like a little more bite when running at speed in the sloppy water

before i get a tonne (metric) of responses on this i know that this is a boat to get used to and learn how to drive etc....

My main question was if these would fit because they seem to be a good price for what i am looking for

regards

Shea

I know Shea can handle big tabs, I saw evidence of that last summer, but his boat will run better without them given a chance.

280's will fit right up, but my advice is to keep the 150's around for when the experiment is over.

The upside of more control in rough water will be outweighed by one of the things grabbing at the wrong time at speed
or "hooking a tab", scrubbing top end on the tips, and the worst of all, the infamous "stuffing" of the nose when both
too long tabs grab and push the nose under, which can have really bad results.

Shea, I know you said you don't want to hear it, but I suggest you try running the boat as it is set up for the summer.
