I have heard people reference these boats and I searched on eBay just to get a feel for them. They look like really slick boats. I especially like the 22'. Available with the 7.4L and speeds in the 60s. I grew up on a 1980 Wellcraft 196 Sunhatch and I loved the cuddy and people capacity. I've never been a Sea Ray guy but this appears to be a great all around boat...speed, capacity, etc. Does anyone have any more information on the 22s?

I run with a guy who has an 89 22' Pachanga. It's got the 454 in it. I like it, the capacity is good and it runs low 60's. I owned a sea ray in the 80's, and never had a problem with the hull, upholstery was a different story though.

454 alpha? IS he running a cleaver prop?

Had a buddy that claimed it would run 70 with that setup

He is running a 23p clever, I've tried to get him to experiment with others, but he doesn't seem interested. Boat has 600 hours. He's not the best with upkeep like spark plug changes, impeller changing, oil and filter changes, etc. Still a good looking boat.

Tap your stringers for rot... common in these hulls. (here)
