It has been almost 2 years since we last had our 16' classic in the water, after having a serious problem with the 4.3L V6. Today we had it out for the first time on an office boating party where my son Brandon works. If it was not for his determination and hard work it may have taken another 2 years.
Here are some pictures of the repower project.:biggrin.: :biggrin.: :biggrin.:

PS: The secret is out.

We also replaced all the gauges, steering wheel and had the dash repainted.
Ooo...by the way forgot the custom Donzi fire extinguisher and new sweet 16 trailer. After all this hard work we were dog tired.

Where'd you get the diamondplate?

I made it. It is white fiberglass, sheets of 5'X10' are $299.00

The diamond plate is so much easier to work with than aluminum/steel and will never rust or corrode...

Not sure of the exact horsepower but should be around 300...

Ted already answered the diamond plate question, thanks again for it. It really makes the engine area look really clean and neat. MOP, as for the HP I don't know, maybe you or someone else can come up a wag for us.
It is a 5.7L, with a 650 spread bore carb, high performance pistons, 9:1 compression, billet flywheel, no water pump just power steering pump, alternator and Stainless Marine exhaust. Poodle, I wasn't gone just lost interest for awhile, but Brandon keep it alive.

My goodness that is a pretty thing to behold. So, are you and Brandon bringing it to Pokey's in a couple weeks? Might look pretty nice rafted up next to a 22ZX at Silver Glen Springs.
