The suppliers hit us yesterday with yet another increase ... this time a .42 c per gallon increase !
We're now at US $6.60 per us gallon.
How'd you like to be paying that price ?
I guess not having anything running right now just gives me more time to save up for the day that I do.....

Well we're not there yet, but considering our proximity to the States, our $4.00/gallon current prices are apparently a bargain.
Supposedly, and I believe it gas will be around $5.50- $5.60/ Gallon by the summer. :boggled:
Did Donzi ever make a conversion kit to allow the istallation of a sail :boat:

We will need to go to MTO (meager throttle opening) instead of WOT!

Wow, the Sweet 16 w/5.0 is looking pretty good so far.......
We ran her last weekend on Lake Texoma for five hours on a tank of $2.89 per gallon premium. It least WOT does hurt so bad when you can still fill up away from the Marina gas. This summer is going to interesting here not only due to gas prices, but water is in short supply at a time when we normally have a surplus in area lakes, and it hit 102 degrees yesterday. Once the sprinklers start running, the lakes are in for an uphill battle....

How much more will I have to cut back on and sacrifice to afford this ?
You know it won't be easy finding upwards of $700 for a potentially fun weekend between two small boats.
The sail idea isn't looking too far out at this stage ssr.
MTO could be WOI ... wide open idle

In reality it's gonna cost the same going slow unless you got sucked into buying one of them there dual engine boats. If your puttin around, your gas budget goes down but the beer, munchie, and tanning oil budget goes up. My plan is to give "free Donzi rides" to as many buddies as I can find. The only catch is they have to bring the cooler full of drinks and munchies. Don't worry about the friggen gas, I'll take care of that. To those that don't know any better, they will have just as much fun puttin around at 15mph most of the time with the occasional WOT runs. The beauty thing about these Donzis is they look just as good going 15mph as 70mph. Don't let the gas price thing get ya down. Have fun this summer and run your Donzi any friggen way ya want.

My wife keeeps bitching about the fuel too.. I agree it SUX.. However a small boat with a big engine = reasonable fuel useage with reasonable throttle.. At the rate I have been going I wont worry too much about fuel. Last year I only used about 2 full tanks 3 at the very most in the 18' !! I do hope to however use the new 22' more than that this year..

Hmm I think there would be a market for alternative fuels in conventional marine engines.. Any backers for R&D?? :D :D

We topped the $1.00/litre threshold yesterday, 73.032L cost me $75.15 today.
That works out to 19.29 US gallons at $3.43 USD per gallon for a total of $66.17.

The new thing on my gas reciept is the break down on taxes, of the $75.15, $22.96 is taxes, or $0.3144 per litre in taxes.

There's an old saying..."Paridise ain't cheap"...I don't like the high gas prices either, but quit whining and go boating for cryin' out loud....!!!! The other option is to sell your boat and sit on the couch watching wrasslin'...!!!!

Gas prices around the world
Think you pay a lot for gas? Perhaps you'd prefer to live in Venezuela.

Gasoline prices in the United States, which have recently hit record highs, are actually much lower than in many countries. A few countries, like Venezuela have prices that are far lower.

The main driver of price disparities between countries is government policy, according to AirInc, a company that tracks the cost of living in various places around the world. Many European nations tax gasoline heavily, with taxes making up as much as 75 percent of the cost of a gallon of gasoline, said a spokesperson for AirInc.

In Venezuela, on the other hand, oil is produced by a government-owned company and local gasoline prices are kept low as a benefit to the nation's citizens, he said. All prices updated May, 2004.

Looks like buying a tanker, filling it up in Venezuela, and then selling it off the coast of Florida might not be a bad idea?????????
Whats a tanker cost, and how much will it hold?
I bet somebody on this registry can drive.........;)
