Was down in the Keys a few months ago, and saw this Magnum. I have been down a few times since but could never remember to bring my camera. I was there Saturday and took a few pics. I talked to the owner and all he knew about the boat was that it was a Magnum, and its not for sale. P.S. The radar arch must go.

Does it ever ! !
And I'm not about to go through it again so anyone else can have this one.
Incidentally even in it's present condition , it would look a lot better if the fwd deck hatch had'nt been messed with and he had spent about $4000 for a proper new windscreen. They really are quite nice looking boats when (virtually) factory.
The waterline at the transom doesn't make any sense though. It's still about an inch low even for a single BB.

This is what a Magum 25 Sport should look like if hasn't been butchered and had paint slapped all over the place.

Yeah......they do look better stock and original........most boats do....:)

I for one am tired of people ruining nice old boats.

Boatnuts, did You sell Your awesome 25' in the picture ? I must say I really loved the looks of it.
P.S. To take something Classic and make it Custom or Contemporary without losing the Classy, You need an artist. D.S.

Lars - Didn't really try that hard to sell my "baby" last season. She'll be going in the water in a few weeks and plan on being a little aggressive selling her this spring.

I guess You still will have the three cousins of the Donzi family to enjoy if You feel like creating wake around Your dock ?

Well let's see........In the parking lot behind the dock sits a Hornet II, a barrel back 18 and a X-18 not to mention a small Formula and a Bertram cousin and few small outboards and a scoot. Just a bonafide boat lover:wavey:

What's next on the wish list and which one of Your boats would You keep if You could only have one and why ?

Lars - presently wanting to downsize from the Magnum to something more practical for the back and forth trips (marina to cottage) and not exactly sure yet what will replace it. For the record, not all the boats in the lot are mine, just the Magnum, Hornet and the Bertram cousin. The other 2 Donzis and the Formula are family members boats. Having originally had a 1965 Donzi 16, then the Hornet, then the Magnum and having driven every clasic model excluding the Hornet III, 24' & 28' hulls, I would say the Hornet II holds the most special place in my heart. We spent tons of time in that boat and I always enjoyed driving it. In terms of ride, the Magnum is far and away the best big water boat. Much more spacious than anything in it's size and class made today. It is also heavy, solid and "V'd" right to the transom.

Well I don't know if You need more space going to the Cottage, but this 31' Colombo has been for sale for several months without a lowering of the asking price. By the time the next lucky owner of Your Magnum takes delivery the Colombo might be upper $50's. It's a very high quality boat with many practical features. It cruises well even at lower speeds due to it's hull design. I'll put in a second thread for another Colombo just to show how nicely they are built.

Lars,,, that Columbo Romance is quite a peice!!! Am I to believe that the other Columbo (the fiberglass 31.50) has a single Merc 250 for power??? Thats how the add reads, but that just sounds so badly underpowered, although very nice on the eyes............Bill S

The boats had 2x260 Merc as standard and 2x350 as option. In the later years diesels were also offered. They made this model from 1978 'till 1996 and has just introduced a 32' as a replacement.

Wow! Love that soft-top Colombo cruiser. May take over the Kavalk's spot as my next dream family boat! Good one, Lars!
