That boat is in Red Bank, NJ. I have a friend who lives 10 miles away from it, and really knows boats inside and out. Let me know if you have any trouble getting good photos. I could ask him to take a look at it. Also, don't worry, he can't afford it, he just bought a new truck.

Does anyone know what this boat sold for? What the actual condition was? Toying with the idea of selling my 1973 20' Cigarette with BBC and Berkeley jet drive, complete restoration. If anyone is interested, you can contact me via email at Whiticar40@aol.com, Thanks!

Mine is like new as well, except for the cockpit upholstery which should be recovered. New wiring, hoses, gauges, dash, steering, completely rebuilt jet drive including new impeller, rebuilt Jetovator trim, new cables, complete mechanical restoration. There is a number somewhere around $15k that could have mine with stock, reliable 454 power because I have my eye on a 24' Pantera that I want to put my big power into and I'd like to do it soon for the Summer. Let me know if you're interested.

Sorry for the delay in responding to you, I have been away from the board for some time. With a stock 454 and the jet you should see roughly 65 MPH. Let me know if you are interested, this is a cool little boat and I am looking to unload it as I have taken "delivery" of my 26' Corsa and I'm running out of space. I have yet to freshen and install the stock 454/370HP engine, so you could make me an offer as-is and build a "race" motor if you're looking for more speed. Thanks, Harry

Harry,

Forgive my ignorance, but is that jet a factory installation? Just trying to figure out if Cig built it that way or was it converted from an outdrive? Maybe I better brush up on my Aronow history!

Thanks - neat boat any way you slice it...

Taking a shot on eBay to unload my little Cigarette. The stock 454 I have is out of the boat, ready to be freshened and comes complete with the boat. So does the aluminum trailer it sits on. Nice deal for someone who is mechanically inclined, as you could have it back together in less than a week.

To answer Mike's question, I think it is semi-factory. I have a very dear friend who worked at Cig in the early 70's and said the 20's were sent out as blanks to Jet Set in Fort Lauderdale where the Berkeley's were put in. He said he remembered rigging my boat when it was new, whether that's true or not, who knows!

When I was a kid in the late 70's or 80's there was a 20' Cigarette located in Southern New Jersey (Brigantine to be exact) that was white with a blue windshield that had a big block chevy and a Berkeley Jet set up. It had blue and red striping along the side similar to what the Martini racing Porsches used to have on them.

I thought that boat was the coolest thing and I still have a soft spot for the 20' Cigarettes.
