I have a potential deal lined up on another boat (staying in the Aronow family, though) and would be a lot more comfortable negotiating if I had this boat sold ahead of time. Dealer has offered me wholesale on the boat, between $31-32K he said. So I would consider selling it for $33K privately, but that price is FIRM. That is $5-10K less than any other 2000 Z275 for sale on any of the classifieds I've seen (yachtworld, boattrader, usedboats, etc). NADA is between $40-48K. BucValu is $36-40K before adding options and upgrades like A/C, GPS, Vacuflush, etc. Next owner would be buying it from the dealer for $33K so that I could get the tax savings.

Details:
2000 Donzi Z275 Cruiser, 29'6" LOA, 8'6" Beam, 6500lbs
7.4L Mercruiser MPI fuel injected engine (approx 300hrs), Bravo 3, SS props
Top speed ~43-45mph, cruises at 32mph @ 14gph
10K BTU MarineAir A/C with digital automatic controls (works great off a Honda portable, also plenty of room in engine bay for a Westerbeke 3kw).
Lowrance 3500 color GPS/Chartplotter, LMF200 Fuel Flow meter, and 3500 depth finder
Vacuflush head with macerator (with all new pump/valves)
Norcold AC/DC fridge (brand new)
Pressure water and hot water heater, 3 sinks
Microwave, Ceramic cooktop stove
Full bimini and canvas enclosures (including spare rear enclosure)
CD/Stereo/MP3 player w/iPod input, remote, 8" LCD TV
Custom snap in carpets
4 Taylor stainless fender baskets
Solid fiberglass hull bottom (below waterline) with fiberglass inner cockpit and cabin liner (no wood to worry about, no glued in carpets)
3 new batteries (2 house, 1 starting)
Dual bank Charles 20amp smart charger
2 New bilge pumps
All maintenance up to date.
Bottom painted in 2004. Still active and working well.
Extensive stainless steel usage: pop-up cleats, windows, galley sink, etc.
Recent survey in Sept 2005 at $48K. Boat was found to be in very good condition.
Everything works, this boat needs nothing. Run weekly in Lake Travis. Stored in covered slip. Extremely reliable boat that is 100% ready as-is.

This would be the perfect anchor boat in your stable alongside that Donzi go fast. As we all know, you need to have a head to keep the ladies happy. And having a nice air conditioned cabin with a standup head and nice galley is a great way to extend those days out after poker runs etc.

Boat is trailerable without permit. Used tandem trailer available at extra cost. Financing available through the broker I'm dealing with on the next boat.

I still may decide to keep this boat, as its absolutely a great boat and I feel as though I'd be letting it go for a lot less than its worth to me....but, you see, theres this Formula that would just look perfect in my slip. :)

Update: Since someone asked privately about a trailer I'll pass this along to the rest of the forum in case it helps. Plus its a good excuse to bump (hope thats ok)!

Boat is currently available with a trailer custom fitted for this hull (tandem axle, brakes, great condition) for $35K, or without for $33K. Trailer rental might also be possible if you need a way to move it but don't need the trailer.

Also, in addition to the custom carpet we also have custom embroidered Donzi Z hand towels and beach towels to match!

I'm just curious, can anyone show me a 5-6yr old 27-28' cruiser thats a better deal? Keep in mind this has a full fiberglass liner, solid fiberglass hull bottom, SS everywhere including thruhulls, ceramic vacuflush head, air conditioning, LCD TV, brand new Lowrance NMEA GPS/fuel flow meters, full canvas, new AC/DC fridge, new batteries, radar arch, etc. An 8 yr old Sea Ray 260 is a good boat but is older, smaller, slower, and probably going to be $10K more and I welcome anyone to compare the two side by side. I did when I was shopping and the difference in materials and build is obvious. Plastic vs. stainless steel. Wood vs. fiberglass. Etc....

This boat has been serviced by Eriksen Marine on Lake Travis. I can put you in touch with them if you would like a 3rd party opinion. Full survey report done last fall by a licensed surveyor available as well.

Needs absolutely nothing.

Aaaargghh. If only I didn't have to pay for a wedding and a new house. Sure you don't want to hold onto it for about 18 mo. My fiance and I have been drooling over this for a couple weeks. Gorgeous boat and congrats to whoever snatches this up. Goodluck delliott00.

Josh,

Thanks. If it doesn't sell I can still just trade it in. I'm only pricing it like this because I have the suspicion that if I don't have to take wholesale and trade it in, I'll be able to get a significantly better deal on a new boat. The upside for the next owner is that they will get an unbelievable deal that will be hard to match if you wait.

If I list it at a broker, it would be a $40K boat, and maybe we get an offer of $39K -- of which I'd have to pay 10% to the broker. So $33K nets me pretty close to that, and will hopefully encourage a quick sale. And when I take the $33K to the dealer for the next boat (which has been sitting around for a while) I should be able to knock another $5-10K off of it, plus save sales tax on the $33K.

So if it doesn't sell for $33K in a few more weeks, I'll either trade it in or just keep it.

There are lots of good financing options too. Or even creative ones. A buddy of mine bought a boat and got 0% financing. He took a couple of credit card checks, paid for the boat. Then transferred the balance to another card that was offering one of those "0% interest for life on all balance transfers".... Now he has a 0% interest loan :-D

Plus you can deduct the interest as a 2nd home.

Anyways, thanks for looking. Congrats on the wedding. I highly recommend what my wife and I did -- fly off to the carribbean and get married on the beach. Saved me $20K and I guarantee we enjoyed it more than anyone who did the whole big wedding thing.

Thanks. In retrospect we should have done just that. But you know how women can be sometimes and when big families get involved...its been a downhill slide. Anyway, goodluck and I will be sure to steer anyone interested in your direction. There is lots of young dumb money down here on Lake Norman that might be interested.

Someone take advantage of this great boat!!

cheers, Josh

I've only posted it a couple of places and haven't listed it locally yet. Theres a guy we hang out with on the lake that owns a nice Outlaw who would buy our boat for sure if he could sell his boat. They need a trailerable cruiser that they can overnight in when the partying drags on (as it tends to do in our party cove). Anyways, he just listed his Outlaw so I'm hoping maybe it'll sell quick so he can buy my Donzi.

But he'd be the first person to tell me to sell it if someone else is ready to buy. So it'll sell to the first person thats ready to pull the trigger.

Theres a part of me that wants to keep it, but I know if I do keep it the itch will only get worse over time. I would love to see it stay in the Donzi community. It would look great as the designated party boat in a post-pokerrun raftup.

My wife also has expensive tastes. Fortunately, they tend towards fast cars and cool boats, so she is a bad influence :) ....come to think of it, thats why I married her!

All my friends who went through the big wedding all said they just wanted to get it over with. My wedding day consisted of: Wake up late, put on a casual shirt and slacks. Head down to the beach bar. Have a couple of shots (I was the only one not wearing a swimsuit so everyone knew what I was in for), then head over to the beach where they had a little wedding spot set up. The missus shows up wearing a skimpy white sundress. 15 minutes later I'm married. Head back to the room, play a little hanky panky, and an hour later I'm back in my swimsuit laying on the beach a married man. Totally stress free. Anyways, I feel that too many people do the big wedding because other people expect it, when really a wedding should only be about 2 people. Of course, we did throw a big party before we left to get hitched, but it was on New Years Eve so it was not a real wedding theme, just a good time with friends.

Ok, the next boat has been located and I put in an offer. I'd be willing to offer someone a once in a lifetime deal on my Donzi if we can get the deal done in the next week or so.

I've had a ton of emails and a couple of tire kickers on the boat, but other than "would you take a bowrider plus cash?" and a lot of "too bad you're not in <some far away state>" and "I'll take it but I need to sell my boat first" no firm offers. I just listed it at Boattraderonline.com this week.

If anyone wants to see more pics or see a copy of the full survey, email me.

If I can close a deal prior to my new boat closing, I'll use the tax savings to help drop the price. Otherwise, it goes to the broker. That means anything around $30K will get the boat. About $1K less if you don't want the GPS & TV. Once I sign the papers on the next boat, though, this deal is off.

A used searay 260/270 trailer is available and in great condition. It hauls this boat perfectly. Tandem axle with brakes. Same LOA, beam, and deadrise. 10,000 gross cap. ~$2K I believe.

Any questions email delliott00 (at) yahoo (dot) com.

Nice boat...............i've been really happy with my LXC/Z275 that i brought last summer as well.
It's been a reliable dependable fun boat.

This is a great boat if you want the best of both worlds(decent speed considering the size & power, and the comforts of home on the water.

Sold, pending final paperwork. :)

So after a few weeks of just answering emails we finally got a serious buyer out to look at the boat and it took him all of 5 minutes to say "I'll take it".... He did eventually give it a thorough inspection and sea trial but he wanted dibs on it. I had put it on ebay with a buy it now price and my phone was ringing off the hook with people hovering over the button asking questions. After I pulled the auction I actually had 2 offers in email to buy it now for MORE than my asking price. But, I ain't gonna risk the bad karma associated with going back on a handshake. :kaioken:

Sheesh! When it rains it pours (and it did that during the seatrial!). Fortunately, my local lake is up 6 feet in 4 days and that means summer is no longer at risk of being a land only event.

I've got a purchase agreement pending on the next boat, subject to inspection and survey. More details once its a done deal.

Been lurking on this board for awhile looking for information on these style cruisers - but most of what I saw (I thought) was information on the Donzi speed boats. Anyway, that is a BEAUTIFUL Z275, wish I had seen this before I bought my 98 255 LXC..... for just a few thousand less...... OUCH!
Would love to hear from others with similiar cruisers.

At the time I was looking for anyone with a similiar boat, to see if they had any words of wisdon or caution. I have since made the purchase, and SO FAR have been pretty happy, it is a 98 255 LXC, merc 5.7 B-3 drive. this boat had less than 125 hours and is in great shape. As I am now going on about my fifth time out on her, I am finding a few things here and there, but nothing major.... but time will tell :-)

Dave I have a 1996 275 lxi It looks almost just like the pics of yours. If you don't mind I have a couple of questions about your old boat I see you have sold it. The table in the rear of the boat did that come with the boat or was it installed at a later time? Also my rear seat does't wrap around it just is across the back of the boat. I was thinking of putting in a table and extending the seat. Then I saw your pics and wondered if Donzi changed it or if someone had added them. Also you could really help me out I don't have an information plate on my boat to tell me maximum weight and amount of people do you know what yours said? Thanks alot and good luck with your new boat...Jim
