I'm working on a boat that's been let go. It has small spots of mildew. It appears the foam has moisture in it as well. I'll take it apart, but I can't seem to get the spots out? Anyone have any tricks? HELP?

Spray Nine, let it sit overnight

if that doesn't work, dampen a cloth rag in acetone, and wipe it over the area in fast motions....

The caulking / sealer on my rub rail gets mildewed. Tilex bathroom cleaner works on it.

If you should take it off and expose the foam, get the foam steam cleaned.

Thanks for the input. I did do a light coat of westlet's last night and it did help, but I'll try drying the foam then some nine. I'll try some telex as well. Thanks again,

All of the vinyl cleaners were just reviewed.
Spray Nine and 3m Marine Outdoor Vinyl Cleaner received the highest marks.

No, Spray Nine is the brand.
You can get it from West Marine on line.

Spray Nine from a marine store is great stuff, 409 from the supermarket is useless.

I was asking a friend of mine about mildew on upholstry and she said to use degreaser. I tried it and it was like nothing I have ever seen. Check this out! Used a terrycloth towel and wiped it down, then used warm soapy water, finished up with a UV protector.

I normally use Spray 9. After about my third attempt to remove the mildew from the cabin this year I ran out. I went to West Marine and they were out. The guy gave me the "if you look at the active ingredients" speel on their name brand. I came home and tried it and it started disappearing right away. I had scrubbed like crazy with the Spray 9 and hardly even noticed. I will be using the West brand from now on.
