The boat look good but what good is that huge front step if it is always running out of the water?

You cant tell me that the step that far forward, and that far out of the water is of any use AT FULL THROTTLE !

That is totally hot. Very cool and conservative scheme. Great lines. That boat is a winner. Donzi did very well. I am glad that I am not in the market for a new boat yet. I would have a hard time passing on that one.

Any performance numbers on this thing yet?
I heard a rumor at the Miami show that the top speed was VERY SLOW..........

Looks like it rides very high which would give good speed for the low hp in it. Get rid of the rear head rests and that windshield insert, put in a 525EFI, hydraulic steering (which i think it had) and it is just about perfect.

Lookin much better on the water than sitting at a show in Miami. All I know is I would love to have the driver's job testing the boat or running it for photo shoots.

:spongebob So if I was Stevie Wonder....please explain the specific differences between this hull and a 26ZX? I don't believe the 1' diff. , I mean steps, placement of same, any differences in keel pad, etc.?

IMO it seems to mimic the 26 ZX too much from the Rub Rail down, I like the color combo, but it does not show as much like a "Flat Deck" like the 38ZR and 35ZR do. Again, I think it's a nice boat and I am sure will do very well... but the numbers will tell the story. If it was too slow at the Show, then it proves its too closely associated with the regular 26ZX(No Offense Frank).

Hmmmm?

Remember the 27ZR at the show was hull number 1 and was not lightened up yet also she has a 496/Mag not a 496/HO and 64 mph in a 27 with a little to much weight is not bad the one I have coming in should be the right weight and with the 496/HO they are still speculating 72mph+ The 27 is 2" thinner then the 26ZX 1000lbs lighter when its all said and done, lower gunnels and cabin the steps are more aggressive then the 26. You can never go by the first hull built. Look at the 35ZR and 38 both were 4mph slower on the first hulls but the 27 ran 2 mph slower then my boat with 385hp compaired to my 415hp and I know the 26ZX with 385hp only runs 58mph

So what about the poor sole who gets stuck with Hull #1. :p

Seems like #1's usually end up sitting around for a while and being sold for a deal somewhere, especially since they typically have demo hours on them.

Donzi takes hull number 1 and trim them and get it to were they want, they did it with the first 35 ZR and got the boat running 82mph. when we took the boat out at the dealer meeting we could only get 78 mph out of her and Donzi did work on her to get the speed. I know that boat was sold in Maryland and she is running fine. They will do the same to the 27ZR I have faith in Donzi they have been doing a great job with the boats

I heard a rumor at the Miami show that the top speed was VERY SLOW..........Here is a quote from the May Powerboat mag. They are talking about the Miami Boat Show. "Hull #1 was on display but it hadn't been run yet, but Josh Stickles, vice president of sales and marketing, said they were expecting speeds near 80 MPH with a single 496 Mag HO." That's not slow!! They also said that the base retail w/496HO is $85,564 and they were selling them at the boat show for $80,000.:yippie:
