Large boat sling position

Sad day Sunday. We went to the marina to paint the bottom and wax the hull of my father's 46' Bertram. Upon arrival we noticed as indent in the hull along the rub rail and the hull itself. It was about 4 feet aft of the SLING plack. It was the same on both sides. It looks like the marina did not set the sling in the right position when pulling the boat for the winter.

Dad is calling the insurance co. today. I wonder what can be done to fix it.

Is the yard going to take responsibilty for the damage? I'd hate to see your dad's insurance take a major hit because of their mistake. Especially, since it sounds like the lifting points were clearly marked.....Good luck.

Turns out it occurred on at least one other boat. His sling markings were clear also. He was reporting it to his insurance today also. I wonder how many other boats were affected?

Dad was going to let the insurance adjuster check out the situation and prove the marina is at fault. Dad's been in the marina for over 38yrs. He would rather the insurance co. do the argueing.
