D 1966 Vdrive 16

No such animal.

I can't believe that the 16 hull has the room for a v-drive setup. Plus, doesn't the motor need to be higher in v-drive installations?

Oh and btw..it's the 1988 omc 16 is the one that doesn't belong.

The hull is different.

[gold-n-rod struggles up from the mat having just received a nearly knockout blow] Where am I? Can I guess again?

How about "1973 OB 16" 'cause all the others have their engines inside the hatch?

Oh, and they're all four strokes, unless someone upgraded the OB (or originally installed one of those Bearcat OB's)

PS: Beautiful 16 v-drive, BTW. :umbrella:

According to the "Model Listing" info on the 16, it wasn't produced in 1988, was not bought back into production until 1989. Therefor, it seems to me than a 1988 OMC package would be a no.

?Information may not be right though?

Mattyboy,
Wouldn’t it be called an impeller for the Jet drive not a propeller??

matty i beg to differ,,,i have worked on many many jets,,,,,their called a "IMPELLER" and looks way differant then a prop..no propeller under the boat or hanging off the back......just a big vacume cleaner for water,it dont belong...

propeller, impeller... it does the same thing... spins, has blades and accelerates fluid causing thrust...

When OMC bought Donzi and brought back the 16 they had no mold.. so they aquired a beat up 16.. changed the width and length and some cockpit dimensions etc.. :)

that's an interesting tidbid of info Patti ;) yes the older 16 are different from the new ones
and ok an impellor and a propellor may be different mr fixall but Wayne was
right
the others all did or could have existed in a stock or modified form but a 1988 16 was never built ;)
