Hello to all,
There is a 1996 classic 18, 350 mag/320hp with a bravo outdrive for sale in iowa. I have not seen the boat but will have a chance this weekend. The boat only has 30 hours on it, the price quoted was $19,500.00 Seems high to me, but with the low hours maybe not. There also is a very nice 1996 16 footer available with the 350 mag engine for around 15K I have been in that boat and it is in great shape, and really fly's. Is the 18 worth the extra expence? Thanks for your time,
Rylz

320 should be a 6.2 litre not the 350 mag (5.7L).. the 6.2 wasn't introduced until the early 2001's or 02's... if a 350 mag then it'll be 300 pshp... bravo is a good upgrade...

i'd opt for the 18 w/ bravo for the price difference... both for the power option, sterndrive option, the 18 will be faster than the 16 and it'll ride and handle better... the 16 can be a handful with a lot of power and a deep drive...

16 never came with the 350 mag from donzi either..the hull rating in 1996 was only 220 hp or close to it.. biggest engine you could get was the 2V 350 "sport" model rated at 210 hp... if the 16 is CLEAN and STOCK i'd think 13 - 14 would be a reasonable price... if the 18 is clean i'd put it more in the 17 - 18 range... bravo probably adds at least a grand or more to resale over an alpha IMHO...

BUT investigate your power setups in both of these boats.. engines may have been swapped... and you need to make sure that everything was installed correctly and what not.. wiring, plumbing, etc etc etc... tight motor mounts.. relocated motor mounts (in the 16 since many came with V6's and many put V8;s in them afterward)...

just some food for thought

Thanks,
I will do alittle home work this weekend. I most likley have my specs off a bit but I do know that the 16 has a V8 in it. And yes it seemed to be a bit of a handfull at full throtle. Would the 17K-18K range include the $1,000.00 bravo upgrade? Thanks again for your help Have a great weekend
