"Sirius Satellite Radio has had a tough time negotiating with the RIAA over the new rates to be paid. Currently Sirius pays an approximate 6-7% of revenues to the RIAA, but the RIAA wants more, given the huge growth of Sirius and XM over the last couple years. David Frear, Sirius' CEO, feels that it is unnecessary to have higher fees than what they have negotiated, but the record companies want 30% of revenues in the future, a 4-5 fold increase over the current rate. The contract runs out June 30th and will then enter into arbitration if no deal is reached."

The RIAA is suing consumers, trying to squeeze the sat-radio companies, and even going after the ipod... when will it stop?

Sirius and XM are currently not profitable, yet the RIAA wants even more of the money? If they had their way they would greed themselves out of existance!
