:bonk: Phil Go to the Chevy Site, under the Style known as "Corvette"...you might find a bit o info there? But according to an article in Corvette Magazine: the stats of the Z-06 Vette put it in the top half of the fastest street cars of all time!

The LS-7
505 Horsepower @ 6300 RPM and 470 lbs-ft of Torque @ 4800.

Sweet Spot is comes in the 4000-6500 range = cheek flattening acceleration.
Fuel Shut Off is at 7100 rpms.

CNC-Ported Heads to High Flowing tunnel intakes and arm-sized 3" exhaust tubing.

325/30ZR19 Rear Tires Goodyears Run Flat EMT F1 Supercar line.

Speed:
ZO6 0-60 in 3.7 Seconds, Quarter Mile in 11.7 Sec @ 125mph, and 198 mph
Top End.:bonk:

Hmmmm at $72,000 the next closest performing car available is the Twin Turbo 911 (according to the article) at more than twice the price.

Lets see a 525 27 ZR or a Vette, wonder which one has cheaper insurance?

Neither I would guess.

Anybody know of availability &/or price of a LS7 427 crate motor?
Is anybody marinizing them yet?
Could anybody's dual prop sterndrive take that much torque?
Any leads on a used LS7 also appreciated.

Thanks,

Jimmy

Nice flat torque curve, 400lbs at 2500 rpm. Should work in a boat. Volvo Duoprop in a smaller boat driven smartly would handle it.

I dont think a marine exhaust is available for ir yet..

Is a marine exhaust the only or main thing necessary to install it in a boat? What else is different in a marinized engine? If it makes a difference, I'm planning on a single engine installation with a Volvo duoprop outdrive in a 18 - 24 foot boat, possibly a Donzi 18 Classic.

Thanks for all your help. I really don't know what I'm doing, but I do know what I want.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Also, I don't know of many outdrives that are going to last long at 6300 rpm.
