I get alot of email from folks asking what is involved in going from an Alpha drive to a Bravo drive setup. I found this on the powerboat magazine site. It is written by Bob Teague and pretty much sums it up....

__________________________________________________ _____________

The Bravo One drive and transom assembly will fit where an Alpha setup has been. The drives are very close dimensionally. The prop-shaft height would end up about the same. The Bravo drive uses a different transom assembly than the Alpha. Since the transom assembly is one of the first things that go into the boat during the rigging process, the engine will have to be removed to change it. The bolt pattern is the same except that there are two additional holes on the Bravo transom assembly. The intermediate shifting mechanism can be used except that the shift interrupt switch will not be needed. The trim pump for the Alpha drive also will work for the Bravo.

Alpha drives have the raw-water pump in the drive located on the top of the lower unit. Bravo drives do not have an internal water pump. You will need to add a sea-water pump and brackets that normally would be used on your model of engine with a Bravo drive.
