I am thinking about selling my 1968 16' Ski Sporter, which has a 1987 Volvo 350 and a Volvo 290 Powertrim outdrive. The decks are in good condition and the boat was running fine when it was in the water two years ago. I was planning on having someone do a deck off restoration of this boat for me but I think I would be better off selling this boat to someone who does a lot of the work themselves. Anyway, I bought the boat a couple of months ago from a family friend and have since ordered $500 in trailer parts for the 1987 EZ Loader trailer. I am looking to sell this boat for $4000 (slightly less than it cost me) and will probably put it on boattraderonline or ebay in a couple of weeks if noone on the registry is interested. I would appreciate any comments.

Also, I have been looking at a couple other donzi's that have already been restored, including an X-18. I am looking for a boat that I can do a lot of wakeboarding and tubing on and was wondering if anyone has any comments on the X-18 as a ski boat.

Thanks for all the input. I am learning more and more everyday about Donzi's and the more I learn the more interested I have become.

Best ski boat cause there is so much torque, you know, the moment of a force; the measure of a force's tendency to produce torsion and rotation about an axis, equal to the vector product of the radius vector from the axis of rotation to the point of application of the force and the force vector.

Well anyway you could pull two or three skiers up at the same time.
The wake is big and makes for more fun.
Now they make Mastercraft boats that do it better, but compared to a Whaler with a 40 outboard,
Donzis are great!

HUGE low speed wake, much like a Tug Boat. Would make for FUN tubing and wakeboarding. :D

In my opinion an X-18 is not a boat to buy if you're main reason to buy is to do alot of skiing and wake boarding. It's powerful and lots of torque, but doesn't hold a crowd of skiers, is not convenient climbing back in on a regular basis, doesn't facilitate a high rope ski pilon, etc. But it way more fun to drive than any ski boat.
if you're looking for a fun boat that you can water ski behind on occasions, go for it, but if you are really looking for a ski boat, you might want to spend some time in an 18 before you buy.
