I need to find out the rpm's of an Electric motor from a Company in Barcelona, Spain.
I have the nameplate and all, but it means nothing to me. I have enclosed pictures of the gear drive motor. I want to match the rpms "close" for the feed motor on an edge bander. I am replacing it with a Baldor unit, far more horsepower, and I hope similar rpms, to run a glue pot auger drive. I have fabricated a mount, it works, and am about to have a "gear" bored and keyed for the sprocket.
I would love to understand what the RPM's were on this original in the pick with what I am replacing it with.
Anyone comprehend- "eh" ... :(

It appears to be an "TIPO"- RMI 28 FO ( or "0"), R-1/20 Sertec Transmisiones No 9459/R

This may help, I use it to send notes and translate stuff coming up from CR.

Lenny,

if you cannot figure out the existing motor speed (is it not listed on the existing motors tag?) you could always install a frequency drive so that you can make the new motors speed infinately variable from 0 to rated rpm...

thumbing through the sertec catalog i could not find a match for what you have listed... go figure.. maybe it is discontinued... google turned up zilch also

Lenny: If my memory serves me "TIPO" is Italian for "Type", or "Model". I think that's the Model number. Look in your Sertec link under Worm Gears..etc. The first entry is the model "RMI". R-1/20 is probably the Reduction Ratio for the gears. There are a few different choices there. The PDF Catalog you have to click on for that model is 7.6 Mb. I have Dial Up so didn't open it. Look there. HP in Europe may be listed in Watts. 746 Watts is One HP. Hope this helps. DJ
