Saw this great Wynne/Walters design today at the New York Boat Show.
She is the undefeated 1966 world off-shore champion- Ghost Rider raceboat.
Talked to the owner, Capt. Barry Cohen, great guy raced in the Unreal Bahamas 500 race.
Knew all the history and Don too.

Boy , It's great owning a boat with a pedigree :biggrin.:

I saw the boat at the show as well. It is a very cool piece. The resto isn't done yet, but it is sure heading in the right direction. I was looking at the hullsides, which weren't the straightest things in the world....I realized why when the owner told me they were wood :) Hope he brings it back when it's done. Hell, I hope he makes another run from Miami to Nassau .......

I remember some od the race coverage on TV and in magazines, it was one heck of a boat. Looking at it I wonder how it handled with twin right hand props, cable steering hooked to one rudder.

It is great to see that boat saved ! I looked at it a couple of yrs. ago in R.I.. It was in a sad state of condition and left me with a sad feeling as i drove away from it. It was for sale with a BIG price tag and i figured it would just continue to rot away. Thanks for posting pics.. I look forward to seeing it again sometime.
