Just acquired a 35ZF with 250 Mercs. The boat performed beyond expectations.Any one familiar with the fuel burn around 4000 rpm for the 250 EFI,s?The hull seems very efficient.

Hey "Devil,"
I have a Concept 30 w/twin 250 EFI's. You probably don't want to know what they burn, they are gas hogs. I get less than a mile to the gallon overall average. That's with mostly cruising at 3200 to 4000, a few no wake zones and a few full throttle sprints. (based on burning 150 gallons, running out of gas a "football field" away from the ramp and recording the mileage on my gps.)
On the brighter side, they ALWAYS start right up and run great. They seem to have a hefty powerband from the 4K mark on up. They'll really wake up if you hammer them in the upper end. Not to mention, they have a great holeshot as well.
My mechanic cautions me with the lower units on the 3 liter's, apparently they're prone to leaking, so check your lower unit oil frequently and if any signs of water appear, have them re-sealed.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply,
If we come in less than 30 gph we have enough fuel.My father has a Hydrasports Vextor express 33 at 11000 lbs with twin 300 Yamaha's that burns about 30 gph at 4000.We ran this boat home at 4100 and were looking at 37 gph.Appeared to be a bit high.We did not fuel the boat so we questioned the fuel burn.I was surprised as this boat is 7800 lbs expected about 25 to 30 gph.At 40 gph we are screwed. We fish the canyons and will not have enough fuel.....
