Anyone using the Windows OS (who dosn't?) need to to be aware of a MAJOR Security Patch that came out today from MicroSoft relative to people who visit WebSites that do a lot of business with Graphics and Pictures...ie Photos. This VIRUS is called "Bloodhound Exploit 56." Go directly to the MicroSoft WebSite to be sure you get the Real Deal. This down load is Fifty Three (53 Mb.) Over 3 hours on Dial Up. DJ

"Images and Graphics with file extensions such as; .WMF, .BMP, .GIF, .JPG., are being tampered with by malicious code writers and may be used to exploit our networks! These codes can be delivered either by simply visiting a website with infected graphics or through email attachments. In the instance of the website all you need do is visit the site, if an infected graphic is there it automatically infects your computer. This applies to ANY website that employs graphics (i.e. CNN, ESPN, MYPAY, BUPERS, etc, etc). Once the infected files are activated, windows will use the internal header to determine content type and pass the exploited code to the vulnerable computer/network file, which will allow arbitrary code execution with system privileges. All versions of the Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP operating systems are targets." (Excerpted from USN Memo dated 1/6/06)
