What do you mean by "chiping"? Please clarify your question, most of us would be interested in 40-60 more HP.

this is really not the right forum for this question this is a parts wanted section your's is more of a question
you'll get more hits and responses if you post in the performance section
and title the thread something like adding a chip for 40 more hp on a 496??
that should get the guys that know attention
hope that helps

At least Matty understood the question. And it IS an interesting question.:sombrero:As I understand it the only difference between the 496 mag. (375 HP) and the 496 mag. HO (425 HP) is the chip so maybe the answer depends on which engine you have.

Jim,

--------Would the 496 in either HP version have a Mororola computer set-up similar to my Scorpion??? I ask because that computer has no chip and in fact Tyler could not change anything within the computer. Initially all we could do was bump up the fuel pressure. I had to get another computer, harness, and distributer to bump things around to where the boat runs right. I cant remember the name of the set-up right now that we retrofitted but can find out tomorrow............Bill S
