I thought I had one too until I rode/drove one last year. The three things you have to do are 1. Keep the bow up, 2. Keep the bow up, 3. Keep the bow up. The front of the hull, while not as bad as the speedsters from the 1930's can still be stuffed and throw your butt. That coupled with a god awful ride and that's when I decided to go Donzi 16 hull with mahogany deck.

If you want a new hull in any level of completion call SuperDave in Thunderbolt, GA. He has molds. I have his number if you need it.

I also saw in TradeOnly a couple of months back somebody who had just the hull mold for sale for $2500 (yep, I disliked the JS that bad I did not jump on it....)

Topsy Too, a member here, besides owning a Minx, has a JS.
He lives in the Atlanta area. Aparently there's a lot of interest there. His has a 400 HP SBC, he says.
I've seen them run at Mt Dora, like you have, but they look down right scary to me.

My old boss used to race them. I saw a great deal on one a year or so ago, but decided not to pull the trigger. It is some wild racing!

Sam,
Jersey Skiff
I saw my first one at Mt Dora. They are fast, looks like around 80.
Catch 22 with is fast 22 was the only one able to shut them down if I remember correctly.
