Well,

After many weeks of waiting, attempts to plan / etc. My X-18 is finally home

An immeasurable amount of thanks to Sweet 16 1966, Russ Kilby!!!

Russ Single handedly drove from Atlanta to Nashville, back to Atlanta, then from Atlanta to YeeHaw junction (in Florida), and is now on his way back to Atlanta. I won't ever be able to fully thank him for the MANY MANY miles he put on his truck, and the personal time lost to help out a fellow Donzi owner. I will remember this, and do my part to help out those who may find themselves in the same need as me.

Many thanks to those that offered and couldn't help due to time tables / etc.

Pictures tomorrow when the sun comes back up,....if it does!?

Wayne

PS It tows like a freakin dream!

It sure is!

It's what I was wanting, a project boat (nothing is perfect), for a good price.

When I swap the engine out and do what I want to the drive (add power steering and trim), I'll be happy with it mechanically.

Cosmetically, as we all know, is a never ending battle anyways, but it is solid, the gel is really in pretty good shape, the only thing is (and I knew about), was the hatch where the scoop was repaired. Easily fixed with a new scoop  . I plan on taking some pictures and crawling through every inch tomorrow.

When 'ya gonna come see it?? - you know you want it!!

And now, the fun begins....
Ya need to check JEGS SBC specials BTW......
:biggrin.: let's see, where's that link? I know where my browser is going to carry me next!!

By the way Scott, thanks for volunteering your help with the swap

And Catch 22 for volunteering to help me get both boats down there to get it done!

I feel like I'm at the emmy's with my award speach!

 , :pizza: , and :pretzel: for those that help me get 'er done (no beer until finished though  )

 If we used Joe's theory, it's be 2 houses, 14 boats, what's the problem??

Hey, where's Deb when you need her,....I think she needs to give complimentary "wifeing" classes!? - Need your boat waxed?

Wayne,
Thanks for the kind words... but enough of that, you have work to do!
Let us know how its progress is moving along!
Got home around 1:00am, Sheila was up waiting to be sure all was safe. I just could not let your boat sit any longer. Enjoy!

Thanks again for the 67 seat, it will replace the rolled and pleated bass boat seat frame!
I tried the color out, what do you think?!!

Already made its way to the upholstery shop this am.!

Russ,

I'm glad the seat works OK, Glad it's getting swapped over already, I love the Donzi seats, they really seem to fit, even somebody my size, like a glove!

Take care, and I hope I'm at Dora, and see 'ya there.

We cut into the back of the seat because I wondered what the curved portion was made of. Exotic Top and Trim owner said its usually fiberglass, he was correct.

OK, one more pic of your boat on the way down. It has the Ga. Diagnostic
Center in the background, not any Donzi owners in there! Just wanted to let the boat know how imporntant it is to get started on the right foot with its new family!

Now, I gotta go hang lights like I promised!!

Lenny,...

You're first on the list,...

I'm gonna swap engines with the rag, install power trim and steering, then do some testing, if it doesn't work, it's yours

Well,

I'm inside the boat today, checking things out, putting a couple minutes on the engine / etc, and the neighborhood kids wouldn't leave me alone!

Anyway, took some pictures of the girls that live on the street and play with my girls,...... The boys are WAY out numbered in this neighborhood.

Also, besides that, Poodle, you'll see a picture of the seat mounts, and they do swivel and slide :) , helps me with the leg clearance!!

You know, I started thinking that might have been what you meant, especially after thinking about the posts in the Performance Talk section lately.

Thanks

I love that part of the purchase! It took full day drives to get both of my Donzi's back to Florida. Both times I looked forward to getting up in the morning and crawling through them.

Glad to see that you have her home!

Wayne, I'm am REALLY glad that you are happy. I've worried that you would be disappointed, since all I could send you is photos. Good luck with your project, and if you don't use the valve covers, I got dibs! Bob:jestera:
