I'm sitting here with my after dinner glass of wine. (Not the first time) I have a Canon digital Camera in my hand. 5.0 MegaPixels. It feels heavy. It feels like something that is capable. Maybe it's a guy thing. I like to think I'm fairly smart. (Doesn't everybody). When I look at this camera and consider it's capabilities, I am taken with what Man has accomplished in the last twenty years. I am impressed.
What do YOU think have been the 3 most significant inventions/inovations in the past twenty years?

2. The application of digitizing (photography, music, video, CNC, Autocad, etc.)
3. Electronic fuel injection

4. I can't stop at 3. Add cellular telephones to my list.

As a followup, which 3 corporations have suffered the most as a result?

1. Kodak
2. Anyone selling/servicing pay phones along with AT&T, SBC, all the rest of the local "carriers."
3. The World Book publisher.

Jon, the thing that irritates me right now is how so many products continuously contain more and more capabilities, as though the products aren't fully defined.
Take PDA's for instance;
They file, calculate, comunicate, even speak, give directions, entertain, but there's very little intuitive about them because every one is different. It's as though they're all prototypes.
I'm pretty wel fed up.

Not a one of these is an invention. Maybe a figment is a better description.

Oh, and try convincing a mother of a dead 20 year old of the wisdom of your argument. :frown:

1. The fractional horsepower motor. (Like you find in your shaver, vibrator, and countless other small/miniature applications.
2. The pentium processor.
3. Saline - need I explain?

two p.s.'s
1 - worst innovation - BCS
2 - I'll gladly explain to a 20 year olds mother why he's dead if you'll explain to 3000 families that a plane crashed in to Daddy's building because we chose not to do anything.

The flobee is basically a set of hair clippers attached to a vacuum cleaner hose. I think it was invented by the same people who made chia pets. Looked like it would be great for bowl cuts. I hated those. My mom gave my older brother a bowl cut once, but she used pinking shears by mistake!

The Flobee is an inside joke in our family, my soon to be X son inlaw who makes close to 100K a year uses his faithfully. Cheap is Cheap! I prefer the big boobed blonde in Polish town, plus I get senior discount!!!
