NO!
The inner of th forward prop needs to be cut full depth about 3/8", the Blackhawk bearing carrier is a fair bit bigger then the Brovo's. Not sure what your app is but I have 22's & 24's. My best results on the Beast was 22 front & 24 back. If you need the measurements PM me.

I may be interested in your props in the future. What will you take for them? Will changing props on a Bravo 3 affect performance much? I've heard both yes and no. I have 23" currently installed.

B3's come in even sizes only... 22 24 26 28, mine is a pair of 28's, 1 inner and 1 outer

I did not know they made 23's, but both Jim and I found better performance by mixing sizes. Running a small in front and big in back, the Blackhawks are setup with a 29 front and a 31 rear.
A 22 front and a 24 back may also help you boat.

yeah, they're 24's. I'll verify when I get home. For some reason I always say 23.

I did not know that.....
So you are saying the Donzi 22 Blackhawk came that way?

Ted,

According to Dave Bostic (Hoss Props) the 31 pitch Blackhawk Props are an average made up of 30 Pitch on the front and 32 Pitch on the back. Dave was involved with the prototype Blackhawk Props. According to Dave, the front prop feeds the back prop, which is why the back can run a higher pitch.

I'm kinda the one that played with this mismatch thingy first on my B3 Formula... then I filled MOP in and a couple others, we ALL had the same good results.

with the 28" set, it didn't have enough overall oompfh for me...

with the 26" set, it hit the 4700 rev limiter often....

so,,, I figured if I had a bigger diameter and slightly smaller pitch on the front prop, and the smaller diameter slightly larger pitch on the back prop, I could have great acceleration without losing any top end... BH approach...

in the end, I accidently picked up 2 mph over EITHER the 26" or 28" pair as matched sets, and my acceleration was noticeably smoother and faster.

I played with blade clocking, and finally settled on something about 1 spline different than the Blackhawk setup, but EVERY single bit of oscillation and vibration went away. Just one spline off, is a BIG difference in smoothness on a single B3 drive boat. To be perfectly honest, I really liked that B3 setup. I'm convinced it's the way to go on a boat under 60-62 mph, especially single drives B3's...

JH,

I would even go so far as to say that single engine boats above the 60 MPH point will still benefit from the BIII. I had my 22 up to 70 mph. With some tweaking I may have gotten even more. I was running stock 28 Pitch Bravo III props with a standard Bravo III Drive. The acceleration was incredible and the overall handling was outstanding.

I mentioned 60-62 cause I didn't have facts of faster rides....

70 with a B3 on a 22 is awesome, hell you wouldn't need expensive hydraulic steering or Hydromotive props with that drive setup on there.

Did you experiment any with cupping the factory props??

JH,

No, they were stock 28's right out of the box. The boat jumped up on plane like skiboat. I'm not kidding whe I say that it took about 2 seconds to get on plane. Handling around the dock was also excellent. Bravo III is the way to go, unless you are putting an Arneson on...
