Theresa and I are getting ready to celebrate our 2nd and 3rd. When she got deployed to Iraq we only had time for a JP wedding. After she got back a year later I made an honest woman out of her (religious ceremony). She really does complete me. At least that's what she tells me!

We've known each other for 7, lived together for 5, but just finally got around to it. In fact, we just got back from our Honeymoon yesterday...so I guess I can officially say - the honeymoon is over :eek!:

Cari and I have been married 6 1/2 years, and together, we have both discovered the meaning of True Love.

We met shortly after she and I both separated from our first spouses. On a whim, I asked her to come to Florida and have some fun with me, and to my surprise, she said yes. I was just getting out of the military, and didn't really have a job lined up, and she worked for JC Penny's as a manager, but gave that up, and transfered as a hairdresser to West Palm with me. We had nothing, and made the best of it.

A better woman is not to be found.

Our times have been tough,....I had been fighting for custody of my two oldest children for the whole time we've known each other, there was times I wanted to give up, but she wouldn't let me, she just kept reminding me how urgent it was to get them away from where they were, and as of last easter we finally have full custody of them. She accepted them and welcomed them with open arms, and treats them as her own. Since they have been here, they have needed constant counseling as they came from a very disadvantaged home, difficult adjustment for them and us. The adjustment that needed to be made by everyone to ensure the instant growth of our family would have never happened without every ounce of her effort.

My now 5 year old (and Cari's first) had open heart surgery at 3 months, that kind of ordeal can put an instant end to a marriage due to the stress, but she and I worked together, and made it. She also had to take a year off of work to take care of her and money was tight, but still, we managed.

Deaths in the family, we all go through these, but once again, stressful times.

All through this, my best friend (my wife) and I have never fought, yelled at each other, or even thought about giving up.

We are now not rich, but comfortable, and most importantly, happy. Together, we have both managed to achieve our AA degrees, she's currently pursuing her Bachelor's, and I'll start back up when she finishes. Se is not only my wife, lover, friend, mother of my children, but most importantly, my team mate.

To this day she still makes me smile :biggrin.:

My motto is try, try, again
1st Marriage 3yrs
2nd Marriage 6 mths
3rd Marriage 5yrs
4th Marriage 15 yrs and going strong.
The only thing I did different with this marriage,is, we tied the knot in New Orleans, rather than in Canada. If anything ever happens with this marriage,I am going for a young, rich, man.........Ed

after a ten year "engagement". Married on the beach at Biras Creek in BVI Virgin Gorda. It was perfect with close family and friends in attendance.

Jill is the only constant in my life. Everything else moves and changes all the time. We tore up sixteen years of roots in Texas and moved to Michigan just so we could be together every night. Man I'm glad she still tolerates me after all of that...

Would not change a thing that we have done together...

I have been divorced for 4 years now and I have loved every moment !!! I don't have to wonder who she is running around with while I'm on shift or go home to a mess !!!! It only costs me 423.57 dollars a month out of my pension fund , until i am dead ... whether she remarries or not . Isn't florida great !!! Profit off adultery !!!! but honestly , peace of mind is priceless .. I got a beautiful little girl out of the deal that is my whole world and then some ... marriage is a great thing ... with the right person ...

Honestly, she is right. I have never had to constantly work to keep up with anyone before. (I love it too;)) Beautiful, smart, sexy, great mother to her's and mine.

Trust you gut feeling, feel your heart strings and follow through! Four!!!

Woodsy,

If you avoided marriage for 40 years, let's see, if most folks get married after 20 . . .are you 60 years old??? YIKES dude! :) :) :umbrella: Does Princess know this yet?

Linda and I have been married 9 1/2 years. This is my second marriage, first one lasted almost as long and gave me a wonderful son, Christopher. I never thought I'd marry again, I have never been happier or felt better than when I'm with Linda!

:spongebob Charles, it is a proven statistic that Married People experience greater success in their career, greater peace of mind and mutual admiration of Donzis! I mean what more could you ask for?

Some of us ... have experienced this success in a "Staged Format", others have decided that the Karma is better without the official papers... and thats OK, point is life is better when it is a shared event.

I have been married for over 16 years, just not to the same woman! :spongebob

I always say, I married much better than she did! Liz and I have been married 6 years this last July, we dated for 2! My "Practice Wife" and I were together 18 years.

So far I am still on speaking terms with both wives...now that's something! :cool!:

Single for 28 (Mom's advice, she fed me while I chased cars, boats & women)
Married for 17 (when that finished, it solved my early retirement dilemma)
Single for 13 (but the earth is flat, and I'm perilously near the edge)

Digger and I just celebrated our first anniversary on Thursday...we, too, had the pre-Iraq deployment JP wedding, and had our re-wedding in a church this past September (I told him he only has to remember the first one!).

I savor every moment of our life together--every moment of every day is a treasure. He makes my world happier, richer, more fulfilling, more complete. Loving him makes me a better person; more positive, more understanding...and I cannot imagine life without him.

Reading most of the comments here has been really uplifting, by the way. A lot of positive, refreshing, comments, and only a few really bitter folks...Donzi folks seem to be doing a bit better than the national average!
