WOW!!
Well, until he makes it here and challanges the current title holder, it stands :boggled:
I would say that if the ponies are true, and if he doesn't weigh TOO much more than me (<1500lbs more), He would be faster, BUT,....
I do have to question the validity of the HP rating though, that's a pretty bold statement with little proof of mods, those are supercharged numbers, and the 1500lbs or so more he weighs would make a difference,....
Maybe if I analize this more I can convince myself
Good thing the 18 is on the way, and I know not to challange THAT title!!

Maybe a 23" prop (by prop calculator would give 66.1 @ 5k rpm), but with 585hp, should be turning ALOT more prop,
Yeah!! WHAT BUIZILLA SAYS!!!

...but with 585hp, should ...WHAT BUIZILLA SAYS!!!
But that's on a "Dino"!! So maybe that's "Dawn" Horse Power, so it's really 292.5 Big Horses (LOL).

Does it make a difference that it's a FIVE blade prop?

Even with a 5 blade the pitch should be around 26-29 range I would guess.
Methinks he'd have a hard time getting 585 ponies out of 454 cubic inches without a huffer.

I meant to mention the carb size on my last post. :)
I don't know Wayne, I think we should do a road trip to retain the title. I'm sure the Rag picked up three or four mph now that it doesn't have a sunpad!:biggrin.:
On second thought, he should have to come at you for the title. To be the man, you gotta beat the man!

That's right!!!
Yeah, my sunpad probably weighed a good 40 lbs or so :bawling: I hate it when stuff like that happens!!!
Anyway, until beaten, I retain my title!! :propeller

He's probably making the HP at high RPM's, >5000, which would explain the small pitch.

not to mention that 13 1/4 is the diameter that is for small gearcases .

I asked the seller what the boat would do and here is his response. Let the grudge match in the Regazza group begin!
Hi, there's a GPS on the boat and it reads a top end at 63. Feel free to call me with any other questions

Yeah, he may be Joe,.... but let me tune the prop,....
right now, a Turbo I 22p, I can't get to my peak HP or Torque,....4100rpm gives me 61mph 9% (approx) slip,....I peak torque ar 4500, HP at 5500.
SO, I've still got a little there somewhere, just got to find it  :wrench:
That 61 was with the kids, and a pretty full tank of fuel too, so, drop 240 lbs of fuel, and 200 lbs of kids, tune the prob and trimmed out,.... I could see 63.
AND, I've never BS'd about my engine power either, tells me my GPS #'s are good too :biggrin.:
Wayne
ps, we may never know,....... once the 18 gets here, things are gonna change
