OSS World Championship St. Petersburg November 15 – 20

The thrill of powerboat racing returns to downtown St. Petersburg November 13 -20 when OSS will hold its second World Championship. The race will include representation of some of the largest and fastest powerboats including OSS Cat, OSS Cat Lite, OSS Vee, OSS Vee Lite, OSSC Cat Outboard and OSS Cat Extreme. Vinoy Park will host the Race Village Area.

Tue 11/15 Race Village opens, Vinoy Park
Wed 11/16 Testing and Qualifying, St. Pete Beach
Thurs 11/17 Race Day #1 - 12pm, 2:30pm, & 3pm, St. Pete Beach
Fri 11/18 Classic car and custom motorcycle show, party -Vinoy Park
Sat 11/19 Testing and Time Trials for Sunday Pole Position, St. Pete Beach
Sun 11/20 OSS World Championship Finals 12pm - 2pm - 3:30pm, St. Pete Beach
Awards - 7pm, Vinoy Park

Hey guys,

I hope to be out there on both days for the race weekend. I will finally have my boat back in the water after 18 months. Yikes! Happy Day!

Just post a reply if you decide to head out there. It would be cool to get a few members out there and raft up to watch the boat races.

David (Donzigo Jr,) & Richard (Donzigo) will be out there, for sure. Sat & Sun, we'll be roaming around. They are going to be craned in at Ft. Desoto and run out of Bunces (beleiveit or not) to St. Pete Beach. We know the waters and we still touch once in a whie. Can't wait to see those big boys pick their way through Bunces Pass, an ever changing shoal area............

You all will have to raft up with us on my buddy's 34 Sea Ray. We're tentatively planning on anchoring somewhere off the beach....

I went by Lightning Bay Marine last week. They told me about the cranes & Ft. Desoto. Seems ONE Manatee was spotted somewhere on the East side of Tampa Bay, 25 miles from the Pier Race Site, so the race promoters couldn't get a permit; so, they had to move it to the Beach.

Either that manatee was on the take or they have a Disney Anamatronic Manatee!
