Well it's been about two and half months since I last posted that my Sweet 16 was for sale. The boat was sold on eBay, but then Mother Nature decided that Hurricane Rita should come ashore in Texas close to where my buyer lives. Needless to say the sale didn't happen which is why it is again for sale on eBay.

The boat is powered by a 289 Ford Interceptor and has an Eaton outdrive. The boat has been in storage in a heated garage. The boat will crank and turn over. This would be a great winter project and someone could do a little or a lot and have a great boat for the upcoming season, depending where you live.

The boat must go to make room for a new boat. Please feel free to email me with any questions. criedl@mintel.com

Thanks,
Charlie

What's a EATON drive?

Eaton outdrives were the first I believe and replaced by Volvo's later. They have a habit of shearing pins under power and have no power trim. Great boat to work on ! The tanks were originally made from carbon steel and rust out so a replacement would be in order if not recently done. My 66 was fitted with a Mercruser in 85 and works excellent although it took making a new transom cut-out to fit . I love my 66 and enjoy working on it and driving it. I am still using the original Interceptor manifolds which I will need to replace at some point as Interceptor I believe closed in 67. Someone feel free to correct me if I am incorrect in anything I have said!

Correct about the Eaton drive, they were replaced by Volvo. They were known for having a hard time handling the power. We have gone through a couple of the pins, it isn't too terrible of a job to fix.

You are dead on in saying it would be a great boat to put a little work into. The boat is in great shape it needs a little mechanical love to make her purr again.
