Allen Greenspan is well into his '70's and has wanted to retire for at least two terms.
The chairman does have a term, and it's up soon.
This doesn't have anything to do with W.

We "owe" a great deal to Mr. Greenspan... He brought the economy from the stagnant years, through the longest equity and asset bull market known to history. His depth of true wisdom and voice of reason during many a crisis, will be tuff if not impossible to replace. His departure is a reason for concern... Through many different presidencies, It was The Fed Chief who had his hand on the throttle of the worlds largest Economy… But I guess he should have some time alone to enjoy that pretty lady... Thanks for the party A.G.

Quick question: Is this a "lifetime" term like the Supreme Court? Or does it have any "term" at all; or can he be hired and fired by the President at any time??
