I have had one for 6 years and love it!

Several members here have them.

Check these out. It's basically the same thing, but a hundred dollars less money, and heavier duty than the AS.

Sorry, but I still like my bimini. I live in Florida, shade is good. Reddog, My wife is a UT grad, my mother-in-law still lives in Knoxville. The wife wants to bring the boat to a Vols game next year, and show me what the Vol Navy is all about.

Had an AS for my 18' Classic. Worked great once I found suction cups to use on the ends of the shade hold downs. I didn't have cleats on the corners of the boat to use. Once I moved up to a 22, I used it on that boat also. That is until getting caught in a high wind storm and trying to use it to keep us a little dry on the way back to the trailer. Big gust bent up a couple of the umbrella supports and for the most part made it unusable from then on.

Anchor Shade is a good product, but if I need to do it again, I'll look into the shade Cuda posted as they claim less money and more durable.

Well I would be glad to show you the best launch ramps and cruise up the river with you for the game. It really needs to be a daytime game - I'm not into night crusing with a bunch of monster cruisers. For the non-SEC games, tickets can be had outside of the stadium up until kick-off. For SEC games, you better have good friends with tickets or have deep pockets (or both). Here is the 2006 schedule - http://www.wate.com/Global/story.asp?S=3608999&nav=menu7_4

I have partied with the Vol Navy many times but only this year stayed for a game. It was a real hoot - the best way by far to attend.

Thanks for your hospitality. I hope my bimini top won't embarass you. The top is custom made, stainless steel and thru bolted, fabric is Sumbrella, I had the shop lower the front leading edge of the top 6" lower than the rear edge.
The top does not parachute or create down force. At 68MPH with my old 454 the top "fly's" without any problems. My wife is very fair skinned, a "real blonde", and the only way she can go boating is to be in the shade. When "momma is happy" everyone is happy.

I am almost finnished with my repower with a 502 crate motor. 470 horse with a howards rollercam, Wieand dual plane highrise intake, Revolution Marine exhaust, eliminated front recirculating waterpump with Eddie Marine crossover system. Each of these upgrades claim 10 to 15% horsepower increase. If I get 10% from all of these combined, I may have 500HP or more.

Then I may have to pull 4 pins to remove the bimini and put onshore to do my speed runs.

It wouldn't be a proper thread pro/con Bimini's if I didn't at least post a response with my Avatar.
