After being at Sarasota and seeing the hot looking Donzi's, I've decided to hell with the original look, I want to bling it up some! I'd like to see some treatments your dashes have had to get an idea of what I want to do.

Eugene- Who made the dash panel for you. I need a panel of that type. Last owner butchered the dash with some unknown tool and have to cover his handy work.

Thanks for the compliments!

All it takes is time, patience and lots of money! Thanks to Ken Jones for letting me show off his beautiful Minx, and shelling out for the dash project. And Mr Baxter of Blanchard Machinery for supplying all the goodies.

Brad Verd was kind enough to shhot some shots of the Minx dash... Hopefully he'll read this post and paste in some of his handy work... Thanks Brad!

Eugene, I am thinking of going with a red or white Isotta for my 22, I think think this wheel has looks great. I've seen them used in ski boats and Cigs. I'm curious about the mounting hardware, is the hole spaceing the same as a MOMO? Can the Donzi hub cap be used on this wheel?

Thanks

Where did you get your wheel? Can you send me some info on it? I love the color. Is it a blood red?

That is a MOMO automotive wheel I purchased on eBay for $50.00.
I keep it inside so it stays in good condition. I probably wouldn't hold up outside.

Joe,

Drive temp sending unit replaces top vent plug in Bravo drive.... same for the A1....
gotta drill a 1/2" hole in the transom to route the stainless braided cable fitting and wire... no big deal here. With the Driveshower temps stayed really low 150 degrees... we're gonna try to block off the inlets to see how well the shower really works!

Do you have an offshore water pickup on the transom?

No..... Bravo pickup for the belt driven pump...
Closed system w/ heat exchanger... then out thru the Stainless Marine pipes.

Mr. Fixall, is that a 100 mph speedo on your dash?

Dr. Dan
11-02-2005, 07:50 AM
:wavey: Cuda ...Sorry for the delayed response... I am not sure if it is technically "Anodized" but the effect/look is the same. For example my Eddie Marine Teal Battery Boxes are Fusion Coated which gives a more wet look translucent appearence...which I find pretty cool, my dash is a hair flatter in finish than that, not quite as Candy Color if ya know what I mean. But it looks great...they actually tape off the Donzi letters an remove them to give the raw metal look that spells Donzi.

In time I will likely do a full cross panel like Pearson's...mostly to add gauges that just won't fit in a standard Dash Layout.:bonk: The panel was about $230 or so... from Nisongers. Woody is a great guy and is very knowledgeable, he supplied the Livorsi Gauges & Bling items & switches...as well. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/nisongerautomarine/7-d18cdc.html

Tell him Doc Sent Ya, then get out your wallet! Just kiddin....

Try Livorsi...
A lot has been made about monster gauges, as to whether they are appropriate for a boat this size. Let me tell you they are great!!!
I love the fact they are very easy to read when there's a lot going on.
And what's wrong wit a 100 MPH speedo? It at least puts the obtainable speed into the middle of the gauge's range, and since it's a Bourdon tube type gauge, it should be more accurate than an 80 MPH gauge.

Too bad Nisonger's supplier for Classic dashes crapped out. I ended up getting my anodized dash direct from the Donzi warehouse. Its all white with white Gaffrig gauges but still pretty cool.

I thought this was a new thread and couldn't believe how many responses it had in such a short time.

Then I saw the original date. I love it when old threads I haven't seen get brought back from the dead.

May as well keep it going. Crappy pics, but 1st one is of my old 16. Not a full dash pic, but you get the idea. 2nd pic is of the 04 22C. Stock gauges...with a few additions.

Actually the previous owner did the deck mounted speedo and tach. I removed all the gauges and re-wired everything and repositioned some of them for my personal preference.

Polished the aluminum dash panel. May get it chromed or powder coated after I get the bugs worked out of this anchor.

Motor has been run on land for about an hour with break-in oil.

Need to install the outdrive, change the oil and some other minor stuff then take it for some easy runs and testing to shake things out.

Hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

It's been a long summer staring at a pile of wire, metal and fiberglass wondering if it will ever run (and hopefully fast!).

better photos of my dash before and after - bought the gauges from a member on the board and really love the new look. Panel was made from aluminum sign material 1/4" and etched on a water jet.

Fluff.....believe it not those tubes came from the back of the old Magnum factory in the trash! I powder coated them and feel that was a mistake. Going forward it will be chrome, or stainless as the powder does not hold up well.

Not trying to go off topic (it's still about dash stuff).

Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering about the powder coated stuff.
I like chrome, but it seems to be old school these days.
A lot of people are going psychedelic with their colors!
Not that there is anything wrong with that!:)
