Hello, glad to be a part of this site. I'm buying the 96 27zx on boat trader in boulder city. Since I've never owned a boat before, I want to check with the experts. What do ya'll think?

Welcome to to the site!! I don't really know anything about the 27ZX's, so I can't offer any help there, but I'm sure someone will show up soon with all the info you would ever want and more. If you haven't already, do a search of the older threads, there has been so much great info on this site in the last 6 years, you always learn something by going over the history.
Welcome again...good luck with the boat. Let us know how it runs :biggrin.:

Beautiful boat, being black any "problems in the hull" should stand out. It looks very nice.
454 and 27' is not going to win any races tho... :(
(think Procharger) :D
Sharp looking boat, and a clean bilge always makes me think the previous owner took care of it. Good luck with it.

Couple suggestions...
BIII is a good choice for that hull combo, up to about 55-60 mph, it's VERY efficient. It will idle track dead straight...
I just so happen to have a MINT matched set of 28" props if ya's needs a spare set
Change the bowlight to a pop up stainless light, or your anchor line will break off what's there at some point. Don't ask how I know this....
Good luck with it...
