Hi Sam,

86' Carlson CVX-18 350/260 with a S.S Alpha-1 this is a light boat with a semi vee bottom that turns into a flat center padded hull, and the Hydromotive 15-1/2" X 24" gave me alittle too much "stern lift" and too many rev's was the result of that with the 2-1/2" shorter sterndrive.
I got more bowlift less rpm's and 1.7 mph more (69 to 70.7=Gps) by switching to a Michigan Ballistic with the same pitch but with 1" smaller diameter except it has a larger blade area. Go figure? probably the rpm flair is due to less of a blade in the water with the S.S Alpha because of the stern lift.

Like MOP said, something like: " Finding the best prop is not an exact science but an experiment".:checkered

I hope i've answered your question, so what do you have in mind?

Very interesting, I was thinking about your hydromotive for my 16' Donzi / Alpha SS combo. I'm currently running a 24.5" Hydro OT but it gives me to much stern lift at WOT. Just as an FYI the guys at "Blades" told me to try the Merc Rev 4 prop. Come spring I'm going to send for one of their demo props. If by chance youhave any pics of your boat I would love to see them.
