I have just been told ( from the pizza delivery guy no less), that Ford is going to build a F-150 with a 6 cylinder diesel for 2006. Can anybody confirm this rumor? Ken

They had a program under way for the light trucks and SUVs but pulled the plug, when they realized that the engine program wouldn't pass 2007 emissions.

I have worked with the prototype teams at Ford on the upcoming light duty platform replacements. The diesel engine option has been axed for the time being.

I went out an bought a new Excursion and expect to drive it at least five years, before I have an option to replace it with a new diesel SUV or F-150.

Step up to the 250. The 6.0 has had its teething problems resolved, the tranny is awesome, and I'm seeing 18-20 with my EX. It is one sweet, powerful ride.

Ain't a damn thing wrong with the 5.4 in them now. I put 122,000 miles on my last one, and the only thing I did was change the oil, and air filter. Oh, and an alternator at 111,000. If I hadn't bought the big boat, I'd still have a 150.
