Damaged or used Blackhawk 27" props?

Does anybody have a old used set of 27" BH props that might have some nicks or light damage to them? I am needing to take a set of 27's and have them reduced to around 25"/26" by Brett at Blades, and since my set of 27's are brand new/balanced and ploished. I would prefer to find a set that could stand a little reconditioning.

Thanks,

DonCig

At 6,100 ft in elavation with the 1:65 gears I was turning 59 mph at 4,500 rpm.
I loose 28% of my HP at this altitude!
I need to pick up about 300 to 400 rpm. BBlades says they can find 300 rpm, no problem by working a set of 27's.

Ted, your set of 27's may be the answer to my problem. Can you email me some pictures of the front prop. It is hidden in the ebay pictures by the rear prop. Ted, you had a 26" BH front prop? Do you have a 26 or 27 rear prop. From what I have learned the front prop does most of the work, so maybe I should buy your 26 front and a 27 rear? Will you make me an offer on the 26 front and the set of 27's?

Thanks,

Don

Don,

I am up in the air about the 26.....it does not look like a BH....looks more like a Bravo 3 to me......anyway I will post pics tomorrow of them all.

I will most certainly make you a great deal.

Sorry for the delay........here are the pics.
They are all heavily coated with anit-corrosion spray.
Thats why they look funny.

When I had the 1.5 BH on I went through the following all with BIII wheels, 28's 3600 WOT +-, went right to 24's 4600 +- and then 22's all Blll wheels. My best results was using a 22 front and a 24 back that gave me 59 +-, never tried to see what the slip numbers were but it seemed pretty solid. Contrary to what the doom sayers had to say it ran great up to a high cruise and would plane off with 5 no problem The Blll wheels gave way to much stern lift anything over 4000 the boat went flat and pushed through the water. The BIII's required machining the inside of the forward prop to fit the larger BH bearing housing, they might just work on an 18 never can tell.

In contrast the BravoX 1.5 with a Merc 23 cleaver gives me 65.3, I still want to put the BH back on with the right wheels to see what gives!
