1. Grab a calculator.(you won't be able to do this in your head) 2.Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code). 3.Multiply by 80. 4.Add 1. 5.Multiply by 250 6.Add the last 4 digits of your phone number. 7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again. 8.Subtract 250. 9.Divide number by 2. Do you recognize the answer?

OK, So the middle part of the equation cancels out....Very cute.

So 3 guys go to a motel to rent a room. It is $30. They each pay $10.

They go to the room. The clerk realizes he overcharged them $4. He takes it to them. On the way he figures he would keep $1 and give them $3 back. Sooo, each guy spent $9 on the room. Well 3*9 is 27 and he kept 1, where did the other $2 go?

Hehehehe

The rate was $26.00, plus he kept one, making $27.00.
He gave each $1.00, making $30.00.
Dummy!!! :D
I'm sorry Wes...I shouldn't use words like that!!!!
So......Trickster!! :rlol:

that is supposed to go

the room was $25

he gives each guy $1.00 and keeps $2.00 for himself

therefore

each guy has spent $9.00 3 x $9.00 is $27.00 + $2.00 = $29.00

where did the extra buck go.

Tried it in my head, didn't make any sense. Tried it 5x's on a piece of paper, didn't make any sense. Went upstairs and got a calculator, tried it 5x's, didn't make any sense. Then mother,(she's 83 what the hell does she know) says let me try..Well needless to say, I am not speaking to her anymore.......Ed

P.S. seems if you forget the -250 in the equation, it doesn't make any sense.

Answer: The essentials don't have anything to do with what the clerk decides, or un-decides to do. The only thing that matters is what he did. He charged 30 dollars, then gave them a 3 dollar refund (1 dollar to each guy) So they each spent a net sum of $9 each for the room. The thing that needs to be cleared up, is that their is no other two dollars. It was already given as a refund. So what other two dollars are there? The fact that the clerk skimmed $1 off of the top, means the motel only received $26 for the room.
