so you've piqued my interest.. what kind of valve timing are we talkign about with the solid roller setup... i want to know if i can run with wet exhaust and if i'll break my bravo going in and out of gear... what kind of compression ratio and ignition timing also (static and dynamic CR please)? i assume when you say pump gas you mean 93 - 94 octane?

what kind of rpm am i gonna have to spin my bravo?

how much to do main studs over bolts and are you using a 2 or 4 bolt block?

Hi Rootsy, thanks for your question,

Chrome, I haven't given any tech info yet.
So here is the deal.
The 600 hp, 434 is a fairly extreme, solid roller motor that I won't expect to put into too many pleasure boats. It is very buildable, and it is a template for a motor we will build.
I run a solid cam in my boat, but I haven't taken any orders for a solid cam pleasure boat motor in a while. most people don't want to deal with valve lash etc.

Most people call up and say, Hey, I like your ad, and you have prices way way way below what anyone else is willing to advertise but I want a motor built this way can you do it. or "What would you reccommend for a 8.5:1 blower motor"
Or Can I get a short block within a week, (yes) short blocks ship in about a week, dynoed motors in about 4-5 weeks.

So most people will order the 434 as a hydraulic roller, 540 hp, 850 rpm idling motor

As for the advertised 600 hp 434:
Let's see if I can answer most of these questions.
my definition of pump gas is 92-93 at 10:1 CR unless specified otherwise
850 cfm carb on the 434, Dist is a magnetic trigger, (the motors are advertised as intake to pan, a holley 850 cfm marine is about $580 and MSD dist about $320 extra)

1200 idle
600 hp @ 6200
535 torque at 4000
The timing on this motor is 36* locked out
Wet exhaust is not reccommended
The Dart block has 4 bolt splayed cap, studs would be a $100 upgrade on the mains, if you want them.

This motor probably isn't the best choice for most pleasure boaters, But it does seem to stir some interest conversationally.

Can I interest you in a 540 hp hydraulic roller 434?
It idles at 850, in and out of gear and will have a low stress valve train..

My dyno sheets are customer specific (they have customer names on them).
I'll see what I can do to clean them up for posting.
I can fax them to interested prospective clients more readily, but almost all motors we build are custom applications not the advertised packages. People just don't order the package motors too often, they have individual needs that are roughly based on the advertised packages.

Thanks
Evan
