Tim Morris and Don Mugford should be able to fill you in nicely, if they spot this thread.

I kept my 16' at the Big Bay Yaucht Club many years ago. Then moved it to Pefferlaw,as I had a friend with a dock on the Pefferlaw river. Nice lake, but, can get as rough as Lake Ontario with the right wind conditions.......Ed

Thread spotted. I was on Simcoe Saturday. Ed's right, it can blow up
just like Lake Ontario, although generally this summer was excellent for
boating.

I typically would be travelling south from Couchiching through the narrows to either Lagoon City or Barrie. I don't venture down to the bottom most southern parts of the lake though.

I have been boating and living at the south end of Lake Simcoe for 40 years on the west side of Cooks bay at KONTIKI marina.Have had three Donzi's,a 16 classic,an 18 classic, and a1967 28 sportsman. The 16@18 were great boats but at times a little small for the rough water. The 28 Sportsman could handle anything Lake Simcoe could throw at it at full speed. Guess that's why it won the Miami - Nassau race!. opelgtracer@msn.com
