Does anyone know if Donzi sells from the factory an upgrade engine package on its classic 16? I know the standard 16 has 270hp and the classic 18 has 350hp.......do they offer the 350hp motor in the 16 by any chance:crossfing

Here's what I know: The standard powerplant in the 16 is the MPI 4.3 V6. The upgrade is the MPI 5.0 which is 260 hp, IIRC.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure.

Welcome to the board!! Shouldn't you be hunkering down?? :D :D

You are on your own, easy swap tho. Smokediver just completed a 5.7 swap in his, he could give ya some details...

Yea, the hurricane was heading right for Ft. Lauderdale then at the last second took a turn to the south. It was a rather mild storm compared to ones from the last few years, so no sweat.

Is the price difference between the 16 and 18 justified in your opinion? The 16 is still a mid 50mph boat, right?

Depends on how/where you want to use it. My 16 is great fun in flat to 2' water. Bigger than that, it just pounds the snot out of me. The guys here who had 16's to use in confused bays and bigger lakes quickly upgraded. Also depends on how many you wish to include in your boating outings. Aside from Tony, who can cram 6 into his Ski Sporter, the 16 is only rated for 4 and the back seat is best for either 1 in the middle or 2 small fries.

Top speed? Mid 50's for the V6 and 60 with the V8.

My suggestion? Try them both before you decide.
