The 35ZR made the cover of Powerboat, 93.9 mph at 5400 rpm with 2 525's, plus a great review. Check it out. Go Donzi.

:smash: Some Day when I sell Dwight into White Boy Slavery in Persia I am gonna get me one of them thar Cigar Type Boat...They Sure Are Pretty!

And Only $273,000 heck ..thats almost real money.

Be nice if they would come up with a longer classic or a Magnum 27 looking boat...under $100,000. I think the $70 to $80 Range Base would move...not alot of low Gunnell Flat Decks in that Size. Pantera,Actvator,Fountain...I think there is a Niche they are not filling...but its also not as much Profit to manufacture Either. So?

I like the ZR's but they seem like more of a Rockefellers Boat...pretty unattainable unless ya got some serious cash laying around. Most of us can only dream...but it's a really nice dream! :bighug:

I agree, I would like to see a larger Classic or a 28ZR with a single 525, Donzi dose not think about us lake guys. Forumla has a nice 27. I spoke to the Donzi rep. at the NYC boat show last January. The going price of the 35ZR is out of my reach but it's a dam pretty ride. Donzi loses Classic owners because they do not have a boat other than the ZX in the 24 to 28 foot range.

And from what I've heard the 33ZX is no more, being replaced by the 35ZR.

Close my good drinking buddy, close......
Those are 38 ZR's. I was fortunate to navigate for Frank again this year, and we had a blast, ate up pretty much everything in the "under 100 mph" group on the first leg, and ran with the big boys for most of the rest of the run. Donzi has gotten it right, the boat flat out flys with 525's.

Oh and the multi colored blue/yellow/red 38, it's hiding Ilmor 625's under the hatch and Teague Drives off the back.

Also just to fuel Poodle's rumor mill, if I were a betting man, I'd lay some money on the ZR triplets having a little brother to play with soon.

Gotta go, need sleep, too much fun, too little shut eye.... :D

Notice how really nice designs don't need over done graphics. I had my 22 out this weekend for an evening run, the ramp was nice and quite and at least 7 people approached me to admire the boat. I passed a cruiser and all the guys on board just pointed, than gestured thumps up. A young guy who never saw a Classic before loved the boat's interior, the from red piping on the bucket seats to red carpet. Hard to be low profile in these boat and you don't even need a 30,000 paint job, just great design.

We had one of the best runs, Donzi has not only stepped up to the plate with the ZR series they surpassed it!
I had the chance to run the 38 ZR in the 1000 Islands Poker Run with full tanks 5 people aboard and of course Boxy my trusted navigator, We ran the boat with out beating the daylights out of it at 84mph. Let me tell you this boat is unreal, we started off 5th to last out of 44 boats in that class thanks to the pace boat doing a premature start and a Zodiac cutting on front of my bow. but what turned out to be a disaster proofed completely the other way. we passes Bajas, Fountains, powerquests, scarabs, 3 slingshots 2 cheetas and yes a couple of twin step cigarettes, we caught up to the 80-100mph class and we were starting to pick them off one at a time.
What makes the ZR so much better is the hull we were not running full speed but we were running strong, the boat did not chine walk at all, we crushed the waves and flew straight, even in cross chop the boat did not walk the 2 other guys on my boat were completely impressed with the ride and so was I.
