Just curious about other peoples experience with distributor cap and rotors. I replaced mine last year and put 100 hours on it before I noticed performance problems. I have been running the boat hard and thought I broke something. I tore it apart just to find the distributer needed dressing. Looks like I should make this a part of my spring maintenance. What do others do?
Thanks,
Wes
I just changed out the module, the rotor and the cap on my starboard engine of my Formula. It just died on me a couple weeks ago. Running better than ever now.

Cuda, What did it cost you to replace all of those items? The module for a T-IV is costly. I think if I have an ignition problem, I would probably upgrade to a DUI dist. w/ the one wire hookup. What do you think?
It is a TB IV, and it was about a hundred dollars a side.
The new style modules look much better. I'm pretty sure it was the module that crapped out on me.
It sure does sound better. :)

I did the same thing to my 2 454's, as Cuda. The new module is enclosed and will do better with exposure, I think. Cost about the same as yours.

Where did you buy them Richard?

Gary King at King marine ordered them from Mercruiser. Land & Sea doesn't have them, they come from Merc.
