It sure looks like the Z29 & the "lipped" MINX windshield look alot alike...

Anybody got the same idea? It's a hard one to find.

Agree, They look the same.

And they are a real pain in the ass to put back on. At least on the 29.

Dale, it's interesting you mentioned that. Mike and I were talking about that earlier today.
I suspect though, that the 29 windshield is scaled up larger.

Can't go measure it right now, but look at these pics;

and;

and you can see the side pieces come to a point on the 29 while they don't on the Minx. The metal reinforcement on the 29 is higher than the Minx. I believe the 29 'shield is larger overall to keep it in scale with the larger boat.

The 29 is at least 8' wide. I will get the thickness when it cools off out there.

George you need those side stickers.

Tim, the top of your dash...is it smooth or anti-skid?

Anti-skid. Also anti-skid on top sides inside side wind screen(s).

That's interesting, because the ex-Buizilla (currently Catch 22) boat is smooth. I've been thinking about making mine smooth on the dash top. It needs a small amount of repair anyway.

I know this is an old thread but if you can get us the old windshield we can tool up to make a run of these - That's what we do!

I have one intact side piece and the curved corner piece of the center portion. It's not much to start with but if anybody has an intact center piece we might be able to come up with enough for you to fabricate a template. I need one too!!!

We'd need the entire windshield because the mirror image is almost impossible to make. Besides, in the boat business there is no guarantee that they'll be the same radius!:)

INFO: Just went out and took some basic measurements of the Minx windscreen. The plastic is .350 thick and the width (beam) of the screen is 67.5 inches wide (C to C) at the black metal bracket that joins the side pieces and the front piece. I saw a 27'-29' Donzi with the "apprently" same windscreen last month. I'm fairly sure that windscreen was probably 1/2 inch thick, and as someone mentioned above, probably scaled up for the larger boat.

In the case of the MINX, There were only about 156 boats built. Don't know what the demand would be. The bigger boats... I have no clue.
