That's what we need for a Donzi run soon. I have always wanted to do Bimini. My dad used to go every year when we lived down there.

Whoa! That's beautiful.

What kind of fuel consumption are you getting with those Yammie 4 strokes?

Did you drive it there from the states? How many miles?

52 miles from Ft. lauderdale.

We did it in a 38ZX last year and it was easy going over. 1 hour there and 4 hours back......and it was horrible. Keep in mind, we were in a 38 ZX!!

Yep Yellowtail on the full moon. We went for the mutton run on the last weekend of May. Sucked. It was more like the grunt run:splat: . I get great gas mileage with the four strokes.

35 mph 15 Gallons per hour 2.2 to 2.3 MPG

40 mph 18 GPH 2.1 MPG

Top speed 50 MPH 26 GPH 1.7 MPG

I used 102 gallons going from Miami to South Bimini and back to MIA and runnin around for 3 days. Not long runs to Isaac or La Draga but good enough. Averaged 2.1 MPG. Had 200 carb motors before these.. burned fuel like hell compared to these. But it was almost a 60 MPH boat.

We lost that speed because we went from 200 HP to 150 HP engines. These 150's are the straight 4 cylinder blocks. According to Yamaha they weigh less than regular 2 stroke 150's and Yamaha got the lag out of the midrange power. The 200's wouldnt fit because their fat powerheads didnt fit side by side on our transom bracket. My uncle has 150 HPDI's on a World Cat and theyre also great motors. I agree that gas mileage is similar if not exact but the no noise and no oil is what sells the 4 strokes for me.

"Noise factor." That's subjective. I just opened up the exhaust on my Merc. 200. When she's singing at 6200 RPM's, jacked up and trimmed out to the max, I'm smiling as BIG as it gets! I love the noise!!!

I never thought the sound of an open exhaust 6 cylinder 2 stroke would do much for me, being used to V-8 open exhaust indoards, but oh "contrar," my friends, they make their own beautiful music. :)

I do have to admit though, when cruising in the Rabco for extended peroids, the thought of ear plugs constantly crosses my mind. It's loud enough that as soon as the upper cavitaion plate breaks the surface of the water, the noise increases ten-fold...I guess that's why my neighbors always know when I'm coming home ;)
